For pretty much anyone who’s on TikTok, the name Alix Earle should ring a bell. In the past months, Earle as been deemed TikTok’s latest “it-girl,” and for good reason. Amassing over 3.4 million followers on TikTok and 1.3 million on Instagram, the current University of Miami student has gained an immense following as a result of her wholesome and enjoyable “get ready with me videos” that are chocked full of the best of the best in beauty and skin care. Earle has been public about the aesthetic procedures she’s got done throughout the years from the start, but last night the social media sensation gave followers the inside scoop on her breast augmentation procedure in celebration of her one year “boob-aversary.”
Sporting a slicked back pony and a simple white tank, Earle posted a TikTok last night titled “GRWM: let’s talk about my breast augmentation” in honor of, what she coined, her “boob-aversary.” Earle began by telling followers she officially got her breast augmentation done one year ago to the day yesterday, but that the procedure was something she’d been interested in for years prior. While applying her face makeup, the TikToker explains that she wanted to walk followers through her breast procedure journey since she gets tons of questions on the topic everyday.
Having wanted a breast augmentation for years, Earle recalls being in high school and looking up “growth supplements for your boobs” and taking “little gummy bears” thinking “maybe my boobs will be a double D.” She goes on to explain that she would constantly tell her parents that she wanted the procedure to which, in her words, they responded “Alix shut up,” which is when she decided she would save up her own money and get the procedure done on her own accord. “I had consultations with a few different doctors before making any decisions which I think is super important,” she explains. “I went with who I felt most comfortable with and I liked their work.”Earle ultimately decided on New York plastic surgeon David A. Hidalgo, MD for her augmentation, and she explains that though it may have been on the pricier side, she has no regrets.
Going on to dive more deeply into the details of her procedure, Earle explains that she opted for 275cc moderate profile saline implants. “I’m not gonna lie, I wish I did a little bit more,” she jokes. She then reveals that her surgeon did the incision through her armpit which resulted in incredibly minimal scarring. Addressing comments from followers who said they’d gotten larger implants done but they don’t look nearly as big as Alix’s, the influencer explains that she just has a naturally small frame, so it’s important to keep in mind everyone’s unique body shape when considering any aesthetic procedure. “You just have to take that into account when doing sizing because everyone’s body is different.”
In terms of how she felt before and after surgery, Earle says she wasn’t really scared until right before she was about to go under. “No one tells you that they’re just going to walk you into this cold, refrigerated room with a table and a tray with knives and slicers,” she laughs. “So you’re just sitting there like, ‘oh my god I’m about to get cut open’.” But, she reassures viewers that the initial shock of being in the operating room was the only scary part in her experience.
Earle ended the video by speaking out on the media’s finicky relationship with plastic surgery and why she chose to be so open about her procedure from the jump. “When you’re paying to get something done, wouldn’t you want people to notice?” she says in her classic, lighthearted way. “If I paid all that money for plastic surgery and no one noticed anything different about me, I’d be pissed.” Sticking to her wholesome and positive demeanor, she also explains that she wants to be transparent about her procedures since she knows there are a lot of young, impressionable girls watching her and she never wants to set an unrealistic standard for what a woman’s body should look like.
The best way to summarize Earle’s open-book TikTok about her plastic surgery experience is with her own words: “You should love yourself, but if there’s something you want to get done, do it and don’t care what other people think.”
