You know it’s summer when it seems like every other day we’re talking about a new grilling tool or seasoning. We’ve raved about the cool shredding claws ideal for making pulled pork or chicken, as well as the handy flavor injector for keeping meat juicy on the grill. And, to make sure you’re enjoying the most amount of flavor possible this summer, we’ve been regularly highlighting our favorite rubs and seasonings, like an all-purpose rub for any type of main course or the Turkish spices we’re using with veggies and even desserts.

Today, we’re here with an exciting announcement from one of our favorite spice shops. The Spice House has teamed up with James Beard Award-winning pitmaster Rodney Scott to put out a mouthwatering line of barbecue blends. These new signature rubs feature an incredible range of flavors, including blends of citrus, hickory, and more. Whether you want to bolster your own barbecue recipes this summer or treat your favorite grillmaster to a thoughtful gift, you can’t go wrong with these four incredible rubs.

As co-owner of the famous Rodney Scott’s Whole Hog BBQ and winner of the 2018 James Beard Award for best chef in the Southeast, Scott is one of the best people The Spice House could have teamed up with to make these original blends. Each new rub features the legendary pitmaster’s signature style and favorite flavors, perfect for either an experienced griller or someone just starting out. After all, you can guarantee that your food will be delicious with one of these jars on hand.

The first of the four rubs is the versatile Smoky Sweet Chile Hickory Rub. It features classic ingredients like chiles, brown sugar, and spices, but also invites savory umami flavor with the addition of porcini and Worcestershire. This rub is perfect for a newbie griller or anyone looking for a solid essential they can use on chicken, pork, or beef. The Spice House even suggests adding it to your baked beans for added depth.

There’s also the Green Chile Lime Citrus Rub, a zesty blend with Southwestern influences. Inside you’ll find a kick of spice from New Mexican chiles and Sichuan peppercorn alongside lime and dried green mango. Use it in your chicken marinade or as a dry rub on ribs. Or, to pack some heat, try the Carolina Fire Chile Rub. It delivers rich savoriness from dried mushrooms, tomato, and Worcestershire and has a spicy finish from the addition of Carolina reaper and habanero. You can use it for anything from blackened fish to chicken wings.

Finally, we have the Garlic Butter Peppercorn Herb Rub. It’s inspired by the sassafras trees that lined the highway to Scott’s original BBQ stop in Hemingway, South Carolina and uses a blend of lemony sassafras leaves and buttery herbs and peppercorn. Liven up chicken or fish, dash on grilled vegetables, or even sprinkle it over popcorn.

With four diverse, rich rubs at your fingertips, you can’t go wrong by investing in this entire set. These The Spice House Rodney Scott rubs are going to take your barbecue game to new levels this summer — you’ll never want to leave the grill!
