President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi attended Saturday 25/10/2025 the “Land of Peace” ceremony at the City of Arts and Culture in the New Administrative Capital.
Sheikh Ahmed Tamim Al-Maraghi began the event by reciting some verses from the Holy Quran, after which President Sisi greeted all attendees.
Sisi watched a documentary titled: “Land of Peace,” where writer Osama Al-Dalil described peace as rare as gold that is worth fighting for, highlighting Egypt’s ability to enforce peace.
For her part, Writer Hind Al-Dawwi said Egypt decided to go to war on October 6, 1973, to regain its territories, but the goal was never to sustain that war. She stressed that power is indispensable for peace enforcement.
After the documentary, the President watched a theatrical performance about the army’s important role in defending the homeland.
Actress and producer Esaad Younis thanked President Sisi for his role in bringing peace and stability to Egypt and the region, hailing his relentless efforts to maintain peace, security, and stability.
In the presence of President Sisi, Speaker of the House Hanafi Gebali, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production Gen. Abdel Meguid Saker, and numerous senior state officials, Younis also commended the outcomes of the President’s recent visit to Belgium.
“On behalf of 100 million Egyptians and more… I extend to you my deepest gratitude, love, and appreciation for your contribution to maintaining peace, which cannot be achieved as a coincidence or offered as a gift, but results from wise decisions, awareness, and sacrifice,” Younis said.
She added that peace reflects the decision of a great leader, nation, and army, capable of protecting, defending, and overcoming any challenges.
Sisi also watched a documentary about the Egyptian army in ancient Egypt, highlighting the army’s role in protecting the borders since the dawn of history.
The documentary also highlighted the achievements of late president Mohamed Anwar El-Sadat, the hero of war and peace, in the victories of the 6th of October War in 1973, the peace decision, and his visit to the Knesset to offer peace.
In another documentary, world-renowned archeologist Zahi Hawass said, “We have taught peace to the entire world for 3,000 years, because the first peace treaty was signed by Ramses II with the king of the Hittites.”
Renowned cardiac surgeon Prof. Sir Magdi Yacoub said Egypt has been dedicated to peace since time immemorial.
Meanwhile, Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark Diocese said that throughout its history, Egypt has been a land of peace, citing the Holy Family’s journey from Palestine at the beginning of the first century A.D. to flee from King Herod, who ordered the killing of all children under the age of two.
The pontiff stressed that Egypt is a homeland of peace and has always provided a safe haven for the people of Palestine, citing the Sharm El Sheikh Peace Agreement to end the war in Gaza, signed during the Sharm El Sheikh Peace Summit in the presence of world leaders.
Sisi also watched a documentary by Actor Mohamed Sallam who shed light on the acts of heroism and sacrifices of the people of Sinai in defense of their homeland.
The film featured heroic stories of a group of resistance icons in Sinai, including Mrs Widad Khalil, who used to carry secret messages behind enemy lines with rare courage to convey information to Egyptian resistance fighters.
Through its archival footage and live testimonies, the film embodies the values of belonging and loyalty to the homeland among the people of Sinai who sacrificed their lives for Egypt.
For his part, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Sheikh Ahmed el Tayyeb affirmed Al-Azhar scholars’ and students’ support for President Sisi, commending Egypt’s historic position in support of the Palestinian people to thwart any attempts at liquidating their cause or displacing the people of Gaza from their homeland.
Tayyeb said lasting peace can only be achieved through national unity, wise investment, excellent education, provision of necessary health services, and sustainable economic development.
The Grand Imam also emphasized the importance of creating a rational force that builds and confronts any attempt to undermine homeland security or infringe upon people’s rights and resources.
Another documentary titled “Egypt…The Road Back” featured a Palestinian family—a girl child named Reenaj and her parents—recounting their suffering in the Gaza Strip and how they escaped to Egypt to flee death and devastation.
The Palestinian girl spoke about her suffering during the bombing of Gaza. She arrived in Egypt for treatment and to get a prosthetic limb fitted in March 2024. She talked about how she remained trapped under the rubble for two days until a young man rescued her.
Upon the girl’s request to meet the president and kiss his head in appreciation for his support for the people of Gaza, President Sisi met the Palestinian girl, embraced her, and seated her beside him amid a round of warm applause from all attendees.
At the conclusion of the “Land of Peace,” actor and producer Esaad Younis reaffirmed that Egypt has always followed a responsible approach to addressing any issues in neighboring countries, but the Palestinian cause is deeply rooted in the hearts of Egyptians.
“We all dream of Palestinians living in peace and security on their homeland,” she said, commending President Sisi’s prudent approach to ending the tragedy in Gaza, which culminated in signing a peace agreement during the Sharm El Sheikh Peace Summit in the City of Peace.
“The world stands in awe of this visionary man. President Sisi, along with his army and people, has written for us the most beautiful story we can tell our children with all pride,” she said.
Sisi extended his greetings and appreciation to all Egyptians and all participants and guests at the event.
