There is no standard definition for rare diseases. They often manifest at a young age and are genetic in nature, affecting more than 350 million worldwide and ~70 million in India. There is a need to prioritize and accelerate diagnosis and treatment options for patients with rare diseases. This session aims to unravel a few pertinent themes on rare diseases in India.
