Every year I enlist the men closest to me to help me put together this gift guide and greatly value their input when it comes to curating a list of gifts I feel more confident recommending. Their insight and recollecting past personal experiences with gifts I’ve given that have gone over well make this gift guide a *little* easier to create and makes me hopeful it will be a helpful resource for anyone else out there who find men to be the trickiest to shop for every year.
As always, this year’s gift guide includes gift ideas at a variety of price points and many gifts included are practical gifts because something it seems like the men in my life appreciate is a highly practical, very usable gift. I hope a couple of these gift ideas help you as you brainstorm ideas to help make the men in your life feel a little extra loved this holiday season.

PBF Gift Guide 2024: For Him
For His Closet
- Lululemon ABC Joggers: Ryan’s had his for years and they’re still in perfect condition and still his most-worn weekend pants. My dad and brother-in-law love them, too!
- Vuori Tuvalu Tee: I gave one to Ryan for his birthday 3 years ago and it quickly became his favorite tee. He now has it in multiple colors.
- Vuori DreamKnit Zip-Up Hoodie: A super-soft fall and winter layering staple Ryan wears all the time.
- Quince Cashmere Sweater: A quality staple made with made with 100% Mongolian fibers but somehow the price point is still reasonable for true cashmere.
- Carhartt Beanie: A viral favorite for good reason.
- Vuori Insulated Hybrid Jacket: I ordered this for Ryan last year when he wanted something “warmer than a sweatshirt but not at hot as a jacket.” He LOVED it and wears it constantly!
- Columbia Jacket: Lightweight but still super warm. Ryan and my brother-in-law have loved their Columbia puffers for years.
- New Balance Fresh Foam Sneakers: Ryan continues to re-order these as a favorite kick-around sneaker.
- Bombas Sunday Slippers: Because anything Bombas is always a hit!
- Hari Mari Slippers: We gave these to my dad last year and he adores them.
- Brooklinen Super Plush Robe: My love for this robe runs deep and I think the men’s version would be a hit with any guy who love a quality robe. The material is terry cloth that’s cozy but also a great fabric for year-round wear.
For the Outdoorsy Guy
- Outdoor Rocking Chair: The chair we all fight over during our camping trips and on the sidelines at soccer games. I ordered a second one for Ryan for Christmas this year.
- CORE Tent: Ryan spent a lot of time researching this tent before he ordered it 3 years ago and it paid off because it’s fantastic. It set up/breaks down easily (5-10 minutes!), is nice and spacious (it says is sleeps 12 which feels aggressive but it’s plenty big for our family of 5) and lined with LED lights that are incredibly helpful at night. It also has zip-down dividers so you can create separate sleeping areas which was especially helpful when Rhett was 3 and went to bed/slept longer than everyone else.
- Pelican Hard Wheeled Cooler: I did a lot of research before settling one of these coolers for Ryan’s birthday. We were looking for a big cooler to take on camping trips (and one that would also work well for extra food storage space in our house when people come to visit) and this was repeatedly praised in all reviews I read — a review from fishermen who took one on a smokin’ hot trip in Key West is what sold me! Ryan was thrilled and the cooler has been great. It’s the kind of thing you splurge on once and then have forever. At least that’s my hope!! (Note: I reached out to Pelican for a code because I know they can be expensive and PBFINGER10 saves 10% site wide on top of their current Cyber Monday 20% off sale!)
- Camping Blankets: The blankets I initially ordered to bring to the boys’ soccer games that ended up being so great for camping, too! I love that one side is nylon (aka it doesn’t pick up dirt/grass/turf/leaves) and the other side is nice and cozy. The price point is also MUCH better on these than most camping blankets.
- Razor Griddle: We’ve had this for years (we initially got it for tailgating!) and use it to cook all of our meals. It pops up and is very easy to use to cook everything from burgers and hot dogs to eggs and pancakes.
- HEST Memory Foam Mattress: We ordered these after my brother-in-law raved about them and will never go back to a traditional air mattress. Great for camping but also high-quality and very comfortable if you need an alternative to an air mattress for guests when they come to visit.
- Solo Stove: A smokeless portable fire pit my brother-in-law absolutely loves.
- Cordless Leaf Blower: Ryan’s love for this thing knows no bounds.
- Indoor/Outdoor Slippers: To wear around the house or at the campsite, these slippers are comfy with a water-resistant outer layer.
- Camping Hammock: Ryan even sets this up in our yard and the boys love it!
For the Traveler
- Air Fly Bluetooth Transmitter: The coolest gadget to bring on his flights! It plugs right into the seatback screen and allows him to watch movies with Bluetooth headphone devices.
- Samsonite Hardshell Luggage: Our family’s favorite! It’s held up so well over the years.
- Apple Air Tags: To keep track of his luggage, keys, etc.
- Dakine XL Duffle Bag: Ryan gave these duffles to his groomsmen for being in our wedding and they’re still a hit and well-used 15+ years later.
- LED Neck Reading Light or an E-reader: So he can read anywhere he goes! (If he likes a traditional book rather than a Kindle like Ryan, he might also appreciate this personalized leather bookmark. We gave one to Ryan with our family’s initials — RJCRR — an he loves it!)
- TUMI Backpack: A splurge but Ryan loves his so much and has used it for work every single day for years. He also takes it on all of his work trips. I’ve borrowed it for travel and can attest it is expertly designed and the quality is unparalleled.
- Personalized Luggage Tag: I ordered this personalized luggage tile tag for Ryan’s stocking this year.
- Mini Portable Charger: Love that this one shows how much charge is left and charges phones quickly — I keep one fully charged in my car at all times.
- Calpak Travel Duffle Backpack: For the guy who insists on carrying on no matter what, this backpack is dubbed the ultimate travel hack as it still works as a personal-item carry-on that fits under the seat but holds a TON.
- Personalized Passport Book + Luggage Tag: This set looks so luxe but the price point is very reasonable.
For the Foodie
- Fellow Electric Kettle: We upgraded to this kettle earlier this year and adore it. Ryan isn’t a coffee drinker, so this one is something he especially loves as a tea guy!
- Rechargeable Handheld Frother: For mixing protein drinks, matcha lattes, electrolytes, collagen, creatine, etc.!
- Epicurean Cutting Boards: The cutting board that checks every box! Slim, non-toxic, dishwasher safe and they don’t retain smells/flavors from food.
- Knife Sharpener: To make your knives slice like a dream. Electric knife sharpeners are amazing for a bigger gift but we have this cheaper knife sharpener that works very well, too! Bonus: Pair it with a new knife — we adore our Wusthof knives so, so much.
- Ember Coffee Mug: To keep his coffee or tea warm.
- SMEG Milk Frother: The retro-inspired frother we’ve had and loved for years — makes hot foam, cold foam, warm milk, etc.
- Waffle Maker: Our favorite for making large batches of waffles to freeze and then toast during busy weekday morning.
- Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker: The one we’ve had and loved for years!! Ice cream Ryan’s favorite food (and mine!) so this gets a lot of use in our house.
- Meat Thermometer: So handy and a great stocking stuffer.
- Smash Burger Press: Because smash burgers are the best burgers.
For the Sports + Fitness Fanatic
- Fitness Apparel: Lululemon Linerless Shorts (Ryan and my brother-in-laws’ favorite) / Under Armour Compression Shorts (Ryan wears these under his shorts for all of his workouts) / Under Armour Heat Gear Leggings (for outdoor winter workouts — these are the running tights Ryan wears under his shorts for winter running)
- Health/Exercise-Related Gift Certificate: For a stretch session, cryotherapy, IV hydration (Ryan loves this one!), a sauna session, deep tissue massage, ski pass, etc.
- Stakt Mat Pro: Extra thick fitness mat that doesn’t slip and can also double as an elevated surface for his workouts.
- 64-Ounce Stanley: Ryan uses this for his workouts and also re-fills it and brings it to work every day. He says it’s helped him so much with proper hydration at work.
- Brooks Hyperion Max Running Shoes: Ryan’s go to for running.
- Custom Golf Course Watercolor Painting: A beautifully personalized gift of their favorite golf course
- Frustrated Golfer Socks: To make a golfing guy laugh!
- Tickets to a Game/Match/Tournament
- Athletic Socks: Ryan’s favorites are Bombas’ ankle socks (Ryan actually transformed his sock drawer so all of his ankle socks match — he has these black Bombas socks — and swears is makes laundry easier) and he also loves his Bombas performance calf socks
- Massager: What area does he mention bothers him most? His back? Feet? Hands? There are so many massage options out there to choose from! We love our Hypervolt and I have this mini massage gun in my desk drawer and LOVE it.
- Fitness Watch: Garmin Forerunner (Ryan loves his and we got one for my dad and he loves it, too)
For Something Fun:
- Portable Projector: For the ultimate outdoor family movie night, streaming the big game, etc.
- Driveway Pickleball Net: We gave this to our kids but I swear Ryan loves it just as much as they do!
- Games: A few Ryan loves most: Kollide Magnetic Game (also a fun one to take on the go!), Blank Slate, Shut the Box, Mexican Train Dominoes, Left Right Center (a great stocking stuffer)
- Fun Socks: Every year, I have the boys each pick out a pair of work socks for Ryan that reflect their interests and he loves it!
- New Sheets: I upgraded the sheets on our bed to these Brooklinen luxe sheets and Ryan was psyched! The best thing about them: They’re soft but somehow stay crisp so you feel like you’re always climbing into a bed made with freshly-cleaned sheets.
- Battery Daddy: Practical and the hero of the home for anyone with a disorganized, overwhelming battery drawer.
- Indoor Putting Green: Rolls away for easy storage but lets him get in a little indoor golf practice!
- Nodpod: The gentle-pressure sleep mask that changes the sleep game.
For the Music-Lover
- Concert Tickets
- Bose Ultra QuietComfort Headphones: They feel like pillows on the ears and the sound quality is incredible.
- Bose Portable Speaker: Small enough to bring on-the-go, but with big, powerful sound.
- Vintage Records + Bluetooth Record Player: Unfortunately the cheaper record player we bought 2 years ago bit the dust so we upgraded to this one and the quality is much, much better. Pair it with a favorite album or two for a more personalized gift.
- Record Holder: To keep his records organized.
