Beachfront rooms, ocean views, and a breezy bar—Holland House see what there is to love about this popular hotel in Philipsburg…
Inspired by the perfect mix of chill island vibes and stylish comfort, this spot is great for anyone craving easy beachfront luxury.
There’s something about waking up to an ocean view that just hits different.
If you’re planning a trip to St. Maarten and want that easy, breezy, main character energy, Holland House Hotel in St. Maarten checks all the boxes—especially if you’re staying on the Dutch side in the heart of Philipsburg.
Three quick reasons you’ll love it:
- Walkable to local shops and restaurants
- Dreamy rooms with unbeatable ocean views
- Steps from soft sandy beaches, with a beautiful hotel bar
ROOM TOUR & REVIEW – Royal Suite Ocean View Room
This one’s my favorite if you’re traveling with a family or group and want an entertaining space.
It’s a one-bedroom suite with two rooms – a separate living area and a built-in bar setup.
(see the video at the top of this page for more details)
There’s room to relax, prep a little food or cocktails, and still enjoy privacy in the bedroom.
And the balcony? Gorgeous. Perfect for in-room dining and waking up for coffee and pastries to enjoy out there each morning overlooking the Caribbean Sea.
But the coolest part? The bathroom has a retractable wall so you can literally get ready for the day with ocean views in the background. The lighting is perfect (ladies, you know), and it adds a fun, open feel to the space.
ROOM TOUR & REVIEW – City View Room Option
If you’re not planning to spend much time in your room and want to save a little, the city view rooms are a great option too. Same hotel perks, super convenient, and still steps from the beach.
I love when a hotel has a great bar right there—and Holland House delivers.
The beach bar is mostly open with a covered portion. It has Caribbean cocktails, light bites, and that easygoing island energy.
There’s live music some nights, and you can hang out right on the sand or sip drinks from one of the breezy indoor-outdoor bar areas.
I can help you book with a breakfast package that will help you start the day energized with delicious food and beach-views.
Here’s a sample breakfast menu…
For lunch and dinner, some menu items to try include:
- Tuna Sandwich
- Lobster Roll
- Ocean Lounge Salad
- Grilled Salmon
- Seasonal pasta
- Steak dishes
DAILY BEACH CHAIR RENTALS FOR NON-GUESTS
You don’t even have to be staying at the hotel to enjoy the scene—you can rent a beach chair for the day, grab a drink package, and make it your base for a fun beach day.
NEARBY ATTRACTIONS & CONVENIENCE

It’s also an easy drive to the French side to visit Orient Beach or other parts of the island. So whether you’re staying 2 nights or a full week, it’s a convenient home base.

- No car? No problem. You can walk everywhere locally and take excursions from the marina
- Car? Reserve a spot in advance.
- Consider booking a beach chair package for your arrival or departure day, even if you’re not staying overnight.
BEST TIME OF YEAR TO VISIT
The island is beautiful year-round, but the best weather is usually from December to May. We recently visited St Maarten for 10 days in June and loved the warm breezes + low crowds.
If you’re looking for a place with beachfront rooms, ocean views, and a bar that brings the island vibes, Holland House Hotel in St. Maarten might just be your perfect pick.
It is stylish, convenient, and has some unique touches (like that retractable bathroom wall!) make a stay at Holland House in St Maarten feel extra special.
