MY THOUGHTS: I love the mix of the preppy tweed and the classic sleeveless sheath with the button-front detail—it has a bit of a ’60s vibe that really appeals to me. I paired it with chocolate brown suede knee boots, which feel like the perfect complement.

I tried the medium in-store, and it was just a touch snug, so I ordered the large to compare. Unfortunately, the large (which I’m wearing here) is too big. Somewhere between the two is my ideal fit!

VERDICT: This one’s going back, but it’s definitely worth trying if you like the style. It’s fully lined and feels like much better quality than the price tag suggests, especially at the sale price.

Treasure & Bond Alpaca & Wool Blend Rib Sweater in Brown Malicacia

MY THOUGHTS: I really like the details on this sweater. The rolled boat neck and balloon sleeves are nice touches, and it has a banded waist, so it sits where you place it rather than hanging straight down, which works well with this length.

This color is called Brown Malicacia, and it also comes in a pretty light blue and an oatmeal shade. The price is really good, and it runs true to size.

VERDICT: I’m planning to keep this one! I’ll leave the tags on for now and see if I reach for it once the weather cools down a bit.

I love a coated denim pant for fall and winter date nights, but black can sometimes feel a little harsh. This chocolate brown pair is perfect for the 2025 fall season, and the fit and feel are really nice. The 22″ leg opening gives you a modern wide-leg silhouette without being overly dramatic.

Here’s how they look with the Rails Millie Leopard Print Cardigan layered over a black tank with black suede Veronica Beard Kelby Booties.

I also like them with the Caslon Cotton Stretch Twill Swing Jacket in Green Sorrel over the brown ribbed Z Supply tank and the brown suede Blondo Marcie Waterproof Bootie. I envisioned an ivory tank or top for a bit more contrast, but I didn’t have quite the right one on hand, so I went with the brown. It still works, but I think a lighter top could make the outfit pop even more.

VERDICT: I love these and can see them getting a lot of wear this fall. Definitely keeping!

These jeans are such a great budget-friendly alternative to the PAIGE Anessa in Astro Black. I love the fit and the washed black finish, plus the tonal hardware and stitching give them a sleek look. They’re a really nice wide-leg ankle jean for under $100.

VERDICT: I’m holding onto these for now. I also have the PAIGE Anessa in Astro Black, so I don’t really need both, but I want to see which pair works best once I start putting together my fall outfits. These are a little longer and have a raw hem, so they might read differently depending on the shoes and tops I style them with.

MY THOUGHTS: mainly ordered these to report back to you since I already have a very similar pair from last year—the same brand and the same Espresso leather. This style is a bit more refined than last year’s Chelsea boot version, with an almond-shaped toe and subtle Western-inspired details, but they’d serve the same purpose in my wardrobe. They’re very comfortable, and the quality is excellent.

VERDICT: I’d absolutely keep these if I didn’t already own last year’s pair.

Blondo Marcie Waterproof Bootie in Java Suede

MY THOUGHTS: I ordered these with my Scotland trip in mind, looking for something practical but still stylish enough to pair with jeans and sweaters. I really like the design. The shape of the heel and the squared-off toe give them a modern look. Plus, they’re waterproof, which is a huge bonus for travel. That said, I do have my Veronica Beard leather booties in Espresso from last year, and they’ve been so comfortable for walking and exploring that I’m not sure I really need this pair.

VERDICT: I’m holding onto them for now, but I haven’t taken the tags off or worn them outside yet, so the jury’s still out on whether they’ll earn a spot in my closet.

MY THOUGHTS: I’m not sure this style of boot is super current, but it’s more or less a classic, and they’re very comfortable, as well as waterproof. I’m also thinking of keeping these for my trip to Scotland next month. I need something waterproof that’s versatile and comfortable for lots of walking, and I don’t know yet if I want black or brown (or both!). I need to start nailing down my travel capsule.

VERDICT: I’m holding onto these for now!

MY THOUGHTS: I’ve talked a lot about this jacket, but I don’t have a lot of good pictures of it, which is crazy because I love it. This isn’t exactly how I’d normally style it, but I tossed it on over this sweater and jeans so I’d at least have a picture in the right size.

I’m wearing the medium above, and it fits so much better than the small I tried with the t-shirt, cropped step hem jeans, and flip flops in this picture below…

VERDICT: The medium is the winner for sure; the small was just too snug. I love the classic fit and the subtle moto-inspired details without the asymmetrical, metal-heavy vibe that some moto jackets have. Definitely a keeper!

Michael Kors Short Leather Jacket

MY THOUGHTS: This is another really good option for a black leather jacket that’s a more traditional style. I love the button details on this one, the structure and seaming through the body, and it has a cool dip in the front. In this case, the small works better for me. I also tried the medium, but it was way too big.

VERDICT: I can’t decide. I don’t need two new black leather jackets, since I have the AllSaints bomber from last year, but both of these are really good. I plan to keep one, but not both. Which would you choose?

MY THOUGHTS: I love this Mac-style raincoat with its plaid trim and button-tab cuffs. The details are so good, and the beige is the perfect shade for my cooler skin tone. It also has a removable hood, which is a must for me since I hate carrying an umbrella.

The oversized fit and just-below-the-knee length strike that balance of looking chic and modern while still feeling classic. It’s roomy enough for layering and full of practical features.

VERDICT: Definitely keeping this one. I have a few trenches and raincoats, but this one hits that perfect sweet spot of being on trend while still timeless.
