    L’Oreal Eye Bag Eraser Review : Before & After’s on a 40+ skin – Laura Louise Makeup + Beauty

L’Oreal Revitalift Laser Eye Bag Eraser : Before & Afters on a 40+ skin

Well this has been a much-talked-about launch hasn’t it? The new L’Oreal Revitalift Laser Eye Bag Instant Eraser has been EVERYWHERE on my feed and with VERY mixed reviews. I was fortunately sent this by L’Oreal and was very intrigued and excited to try it so see how it worked for me. Let’s get into it…

L’OREAL SAYS : Struggling with persistent eye bags, puffiness, dark circles, or fine lines? Experience the power of L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Laser Eye Bag Instant Eraser Eye Cream, the ultimate under-eye treatment that visibly reduces eye bags, wrinkles, and puffiness in just 15 minutes. This fast-acting eye cream for bags and dark circles provides a refreshed, youthful look that lasts up to 8 hours.

Targets Multiple Signs of Ageing for Up to 8 Hours including :

    • Eye bags

    • Puffiness

    • Fine lines & wrinkles

    • Rough skin & texture

    • Sagging skin

It definitely sounds like an interesting product and something quite different to other skincare products that are about at the moment. It comes in a small 15ml tube and presents almost like an eye cream – it is a white cream with a gel-like texture and feel. This turns into an  ‘invisible, flexible film’ that then tightens and smooths the under-eye area.

How to use the L’Oreal Revitalift Laser Eye Bag Instant Eraser

I was a little confused about this because some sites (such as Boots UK) say to use it on clean, dry skin so presumably BEFORE makeup, the L’Oreal website tells you to put it on OVER makeup. I do think you can use it both ways as long as it’s either the first thing you apply or the last – I have had better results using it OVER makeup and didn’t like it at all when I tried to apply makeup over the top of it. It’s worth trying it both ways to see what works best for you and your skin!

Step 1: Use half a pea-sized amount of the L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Laser Eye Bag Instant Eraser Eye Cream per under-eye over makeup that is finished and dry / set.

Step 2: Gently tap a thin, even layer from the inner to outer corners of the eye—do not rub.

Step 3: Keep your face still for 15 minutes while the product sets and forms its invisible tightening film.

Step 4: Enjoy visible, long-lasting results throughout the day. Do not sleep with the product on.

Step 5: At night, remove with a waterproof makeup remover

The L’Oreal Revitalift Instant Eye Bag Eraser Review

The L’Oreal Revitalift Instant Eye Bag Eraser is a thick white cream-gel texture, that absorbs into the skin and leaves no colour – so suitable for all skin tones. You can use it both under and over makeup or, of course, on its own. I have used it under and over makeup and I actually prefer it over the top of makeup. I struggled with applying concealer over the top of it as it dries into an almost film-like texture. My makeup didn’t sit well over the top, it clumped up a bit and looked patchy and weird.

So my recommendation is over the top of makeup.

After you have finished your eye makeup, tap a small amount of the cream lightly Ito the areas you want to treat – fine lines, crepey areas which you want to smooth. It then works in 15 minutes to give the full smoothing and tightening effect and then it lasts all day, or until you cleanse your skin. When it dries, and after the 15 minutes is up – it does feel a little tight, it does feel like you have something on and it works like an invisible tape to smooth and reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles.

From the before and after images you can see below, you can see that it obviously does work to deliver what it says – it just felt a little odd on my skin. After time my concealer looked a little ‘off’ and it’s not a product I am using for a lot, unfortunately. I would definitely use it if I had an event or something I wanted to look instantly fresh and flawless for – as it DOES work, but I just can’t be bothered with the faff for the pay-off it gives. It’s not a product I will use daily.

I think this is also good on other areas of the face where you have prominent texture or wrinkles – as it will work to smooth and blur these areas – as you can see on my forehead below. So use it all over and not just the under eyes – that is probably my biggest tip for you. It reminds me of a product that was popular with us makeup artists about 20 years ago called freeze-247 which was a hexapeptide cream which had a similar effect on fine lines and wrinkles. This is by no means the first of this kind of product, there are others out there , but L’Oreal have the money for some intense marketing campaigns when they launch a product like this.

In short, this is almost like an intense, concentrated blurring primer. Use it sparingly and you may get on really well with it. Can also be a handy way of reducing the appearance of a prominent wrinkle on your face if you are in between ant-wrinkle injections or you can’t afford that type of thing.

It is not a replacement to your skincare or eye cream by any means, this is more of a makeup / cosmetic product.

L’Oreal Revitalift Laser Eye Bag Eraser Review : Before + After’s

You can see my before and after’s below, using it both around my eye area AND across my forehead to smooth. This was applied without any makeup so onto bare skin so this is just the product and nothing else. For reference, I am 43 years old and have combination skin with open pores.

I think you can definitely tell a difference between the before and afters and the product absolutely does work to smooth and fill lines and texture. I am not sure how it can improve puffiness and dark circles but it absolutely will smooth the skin. Like I have said, with makeup it is a little trickier to make it look good and flawless which is why I am not using the product a lot and find it a bit off a faff. I will use it perhaps for special occasions or maybe when I am in between botox appointments and want to smooth my skin.

If it will be helpful I can add images of it being used alongside my concealer , just let me know in the comments. I hope you found this review of the L’Oreal Revitalift Laser Eye Bag Instant Eraser useful and it has answered all your questions on it – ask away below if there is anything more you would like to know.
