Live: Titans tearing Manly apart as Khan-Pereira scores record-breaking try

Live updates: Titans vs Sea Eagles

HT: Titans lead 22-8 over misfiring Manly

    (AAP Image)

That’s a tremendous first half from the Titans.

A horror start, with Manly scoring off the back of two early errors through milestone man Reuben Garrick.

But then Kieran Foran came to the fore, the Titans scoring try after try after try after try to lead 22-6.

Allan Fitzgibbon got one, four minutes later Alofiana Khan-Pereira got his first, four minutes after that Khan-Pereira scored again – that’s 51 tries in 52 matches for him now, an NRL record.

And then Jayden Campbell scored on the half hour to make it a fantastic four in the opening 40 for the hosts.

    40′ Manly comes so close!

    Oh that’s so close!

    Ben Trbojevic
gets to the line, he passes to Tom, who flicks on deftly…

But Tommy Talau can’t hold it and it’s knocked on.

    38′ Penalty Sea Eagles

Pretty weak penalty to give away so close to half time by Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui, who didn’t peel from the tackle.

Limp defence on both sides, to be honest

Limp defence by Manly. Rubbish stuff frankly, Titans running through them like too many green figs.

    – Old timer

The Titans’ left edge defence hasn’t been too crash hot, when Manly have tested it so far, either.

Could be a lot more tries in this one.

37′ Manly are over, but there’s several knock ons

What will the ruling be here?

    Certainly no try.

Jason Saab leaped and mistimed his jump, and makes contact with Alofiana
    Khan-Pereira.

He is pinged for a penalty there and I think that’s very harsh.

So does Daly Cherry-Evans, as it happens, saying “I disagree” to the referee.

    36′ Manly penalty

Phillip Sami is offside after Fitzgibbon rises highest and taps a kick back.

    35′ Titans penalty

AJ Brimson takes the ball into contact and almost has his face caved in, and then his head snapped off in a brutal shot from the Manly defensive line.

Kieran Foran is asking politely whether that reached the sin bin threshold. It could have, to be honest.

    31′ TITANS GO IN AGAIN!

    Tremendous from the Titans!

AJ Brimson makes the line break, a poor missed tackle in midfield.

Jayden Campbell was there in support and he’s over the line.

    Incredible try for the Titans.

Campbell is going to make the conversion and it’s 22-8 all of a sudden!

    What a game!

    29′ Manly loses its challenge

There’s no stripping action there on Haumole Olakau’atu and Manly lose a challenge.

There were a handful of Titans in the tackle and it’s ruled as a loose carry.

Very early on to lose the challenge.

    26′ Garrick has a second!

Horrible defence from Brian Kelly there, but a really nice move from the Sea Eagles.

    Toafofoa Sipley
had the break initially, which the Sea Eagles made the most of by catching the Titans offside for a six again call.

DCE got the ball in centre field, he crabbed the ball towards the right touchline, waiting for the right opener and, after a nice dummy, passed short to Garrick and he breezes through for a try.

Garrick can’t convert his own try again though, and it’s 16-8.

    25′ Manly penalty

Tolutau Koula nearly has his head taken off by Jaimin
    Jolliffe
as he looks to break through.

Manly needed that field position boost and will have the ball in Titans territory.

    23′ Saab drops one cold

That’s a disappointing end to a decent move to the right by Manly, with Jason Saab dropping the ball out wide when he had space to run into.

The Titans have the ball on half way.

    20′ KHAN-PEREIRA!

    That’s remarkable from Alofiana Khan-Pereira!

The try-scoring machine got the ball on the left side, darted back inside, darted again, probed the line and then just ran through a collection of static Manly defenders!

    Incredible try!

Manly in disarray, the Titans on top.

The kick is good and it’s 16-4!

    18′ Titans penalty

Another leg up for the Titans, with Ethan Bullemor getting a bit enthusiastic in the tackle with Reagan Campbell-Gillard.

    26′ Titans go back-to-back!

    Tremendous from the Titans!

Brian Kelly steps and does Reuben Garrick
all ends up before he passes wide to Alofiana
Khan-Pereira, who scores his 50th NRL try in just his 52nd NRL match!

He’s the fastest of all time to do so!

The kick is missed from out wide by Campbell, and it’s 10-4.

    12′ WHAT A FINISH!

    That’s amazing from Allan Fitzgibbon!

A brilliant floated pass over the top from Kieran Foran to Fitzgibbon, who raced to the corner and managed to just about get the ball down with a couple of millimeters to spare!

That’s a superb finish, a great assist from the former Sea Eagle Foran.

There is literally a millimeter in that.

    A great try.

The kick from the sideline is good by Jayden Campbell and it’s 6-4 to the Titans!

    11′ Penalty Titans

    Haumole Olakau’atu
got a bit uppish with his tackle as Alofiana
    Khan-Pereira
threatened the break through the line.

That will teach him, says Olakau’atu, maybe.

In the end, it’s the Sea Eagles who are punished.

9′ Kieran Foran with the intercept

Manly look to make the Titans pay with another raid into their territory, but Foran read it like a book and managed to get a hand on the ball and take it back the other way.

The Titans get their best chance of the night off the back of that intercept, the kick being put up towards the right side but Tom Trbojevic gathers on the run and sets off.

8′ Brian Kelly nearly knocks himself out

Brian Kelly was smashed by Jason Saab early on, and now he’s looked to lay one back on the Manly winger.

However, he gets his head in a bad spot and staggered back.

Peter Gough stops the play to check on Kelly, who seems OK to get back in the line but that did not look good first up.

He has stayed out there though.
