Live: Head falls after West Indies’ catching horror show continues

57th over: S. Joseph steams in again

And Webster is back and pushing one through point for a single.

Shamar is coming around the wicket to the left-handed Carey, who is poking an angled one straight back to Joseph.

Shot! Carey gets a bit of width and is on the front foot and creaming one through the air just forward of point. That’s four more to the total.

Five, actually. A front foot no ball is belatedly called.

Those little white ball circles are out once more! The West Indies are in the market for a replacement chunk of leather.

And they’ll get one. The ball doesn’t make its way through the device and the suitcase of backups is out on the field.

Joseph has five to come with the replacement ball.

Carey negotiates the first couple, defending them into the off-side.

    As he is the third.

Two balls to go until lunch.

Lovely bowling! Sliding straight through the fabled corridor of uncertainty, Carey is forward and defending but missing it entirely and it’s through to Shai Hope.

Carey is defending confidently and that is lunch.

56th over: Seales re-enters the attack

Only about 10 minutes to go until lunch and Jayden Seales will get another go before the break.

Webster is on the front foot and defending a straight one.

This one is shorter and Big Beau is on the back foot and pushing into the off-side for no run.

Ooft. That’s a really vicious one. It rears off the surface and snaps back a mile. Webster wears one on the body.

Webster pushes one through point and that’s a single to end the over.

55th over: S. Joseph gets his first look at Carey

Another wicket here and things get interesting again.

Carey successfully negotiates his first couple from Joseph, who is typically skiddy and just about 140 km/hr.

It’s a difficult assignment for the newly arrived Carey, and made more difficult by the increasingly uneven bounce.

Past the edge! Carey is dangling the bat and that one is very, very close to the edge.

This one is fuller and straighter and Carey is French cutting for a single.

Webster will face the final ball of the over.

And he gets a single with that familiar back foot, off-side push.

    54th over: Warrican to continue

Alex Carey is out in the middle and will get a look at Warrican straight away, after Webster works one for a single.

And, typically, Carey is down and sweeping straight away. He gets a couple.

And again. This time just a single, though.

    Webster is defending.

    OUT! HEAD IS GONE!

    And that is absolutely plumb.

A straight one on a good length keeps very low and Travis Head is playing all around it, trying to work it through the on-side.

The ball thunders into his pad and that one is well and truly hitting all three.

Head is smiling ruefully as he walks off without even considering a review.

Not much he could do about that one.

    53rd over: S. Joseph returns

As Australia approaches a 150 run lead, Chase turns to his premier pacer.

Shamar’s first ball is a real loosener – too short and too straight, and Head just helps it behind square for a boundary.

That lead is now up about 150.

Four! It’s a great shot manufactured by Travis Head, who finds some room outside off and punches one past gully and to the rope.

And that’s the 100 run partnership between Head and Webster – the first of the match.

A better line from Shamar is pushed back past him by Head. It’s collected at mid-on and that’s no run.

    52nd over: Warrican to continue

It’s pretty unimaginative stuff in the middle as Warrican isn’t getting a whole heap of spin and Webster is defending into the off-side.

The last ball of the over is a bit straighter and Big Beau is turning it to the on-side but can’t find a run.

    That’s a maiden.

    G’day Aaron!

Loving the coverage gents! Can’t be in Barbados, but sitting by the pool in Tenerife with a beer a fair consolation. Keep up the good work!

    – Aaron

    Cheers!

    Thanks for joining us.

Bringing the cricket to Tenerife, love it.

51st over: Greaves to bowl his 11th

And Head is working the first one of his hip for a single.

This one’s a little fuller, and Webster is forward and pushing towards cover. No run.

Webster is defending a straight one that squirts off his inside edge and into the leg-side infield.

A bit of a pause here as the West Indies adjust their field a touch.

Webster is defending again, before rocking back and punching one into the off-side infield. He’s looking pretty untroubled here, is the Slug.

A wayward one from Greaves is worked in front of square for a single.

    And that’s over.

50th over: Warrican to twirl six more

Webster is forward and defending the first couple.

First sign of aggression from Webster! The ball goes above the big Tasmanian’s eyeline (which is no mean feat, by the way) and he charges to the pitch of it and tries to punch one down the ground. But it’s collected by Warrican in his follow through and it’s a dot ball.

Big Beau sees out the last couple and that’s a maiden over.

49th over: Greaves steams in once more

Head is back and defending a length ball and it’s collected by Greaves on his follow through.

This one’s a bit fuller and Head is punting it to mid-off. No run.

That dropped catch aside, it’s been a pretty chanceless hour here for the Aussie batters.

Head is deflecting the next one into the off side and it’s a dot.

Great shot by Head, who steps forward and creams one. However, it’s stopped at cover and that’s a dot ball to end the over.

    48th over: Warrican to Head

Head is back and threading one just forward of point for a single.

Warrican will get his first look at Beau Webster.

This is the man the left arm wrist spinner will be wanting to be bowling at.

Coming around the wicket, he’s looking to get a bit of angle into the right-handed Webster and spin it away from his bat.

Webster is down and paddling and the batters cross for a single.

Head defends the final ball of the over.

    50 for Travis Head!

Oh my, where would Australia be without Travis here in Barbados?

    (AP)

It’s his second half-century of the match and is brought up by a beautiful, flowing drive through extra cover.

    He’s looking on here.

Remember, he was dropped on 21 by Greaves earlier today – the bowler he just creamed through the covers to bring up his milestone.

47th over: Greaves to continue after drinks

Webster is on the back foot and playing that signature push through cover point. The batters amble through for a single.

Delightful! Too full from Greaves and Head drives him through cover for four.

46th over: A bit of spin after drinks

Warrican is on for the first time this innings and Head likes what he sees!

Lovely stuff. The Aussie is down and driving attractively through the off-side for a boundary.

Warrican is a left arm finger spinner, so the ball is spinning into the left-handed Head.

Head works one down the ground and the batters come back for a couple.

    And that’s over.

45th over – Justin Greaves is into the attack

Can he atone for dropping Head when he was on 21 earlier today?

Single to Webster first up, a square drive to backward point.

Head drives into the ground and Greaves catches it on the bounce in his follow through.

CHANCE! Inside edge now past the stumps! That’s desperately unlucky for the West Indies. Head came so close to playing on as the ball just deviated in to him a touch.

    Solid defence from Webster.

    Solid defence again from Webster.

    And again, solid defence.

That will be the drinks break, Australia 4-142 and this pair looking very well set – the easiest batting has looked all game.

I’m gunna have a drink too and so I’ll hand you over to Henry Hanson to take you through to lunch.

44th over – Jayden Seales continues

    Solid defence from Webster.

A bit of extra bounce there surprises Webster, who checks his drive.

FOUR! Great shot from Beau Webster! That’s a great shot, a confident flourish through cover.

A bit edgy past gully, but good running gives the Aussies another couple.

Webster pushes into the off side and gets a single to deep point.

FOUR! Brilliant from Travis Head! Just a swish of his bat and he sends the ball flying to the long on boundary. Great timing.

It’s starting to get away from the Aussies here – I do wonder whether the West Indies should go to spin soon.

43rd over – Alzarri Joseph will continue

    (AP Photo)

Over the wicket to Head, who scampers down the other end for a single after deflecting that ball away to deep point off the back foot.

Webster adds a couple as he clips off his pads to deep backwards square leg.

Leg gully is deployed, just one slip and an orthodox gully on the off side behind the stumps, as Webster defends.

Great fielding at gully, a sliding dive and then a flinging of the ball back to make Head scamper into his ground, a neat little push from Webster.

Lovely shot, a gorgeous drive that Brathwaite does well to stop on the boundary at long off with his foot. They run three.

Webster pulls that last one away for a single.

A tired-looking over from Alzarri Joseph.

42nd over – Jayden Seales comes into the attack

Webster crouches over his defensive stroke.

Ian Bishop on commentary is talking about a crack that has developed just outside off – it’s what accounted for Josh Inglis yesterday.

Seales is looking for that crack and maybe found it, a bit of extra bounce and Webster has to get his bottom hand out the way as he defends his body with the bat.

    Solid defensive shot from Webster.

Webster crushes an expansive cover drive but John Campbell makes a brilliant stop. That’s very good from the West Indies in the field.

Solid defence, an attempted drop and run but there is no run taken.

Outside off, left alone by Webster.

Good start from Jayden Seales, a maiden.

41st over – Alzarri has another

FOUR! Head will gobble those up faster than I can get through my blogging snacks – a glorious shot that sends the ball racing to the boundary. Too easy for Head, as Alzarri looks a bit too hard for the wicket-taking ball.

Solid defence is the response from Head for the next couple of deliveries.

A good length from Alzarri, after the too-full boundary ball, Alzarri has dragged his length back perfectly.

Head pulls a 140kmh bouncer to deep square leg for a single.

Good ball, angling in to Webster and he just gets an inside edge to tickle the ball down to fine leg for a single.
