Believe it or not, we encounter radiation every day. We’re not just talking about the electromagnetic and corpuscular radiation from the sun, though. We’re also exposed to it from artificial things like cell phones, Wi-Fi routers, radio broadcasts, smart meters, and even home appliances.
Here’s the thing: you need to protect yourself from all kinds of radiation. We put on SPF to protect our skin from the sun, right? But what about when it comes to protecting ourselves from our phones and other Bluetooth devices?
The good news is that there are ways to block this artificial radiation, too. That way, you can keep your family safe from any potential harmful effects without unplugging from the modern world.
Here’s how you can stay connected and protected:
How to Block Cell Phone Radiation + What You NEED to Know About EMF
The sun showers us with ultraviolet (UV) radiation, while our everyday devices emit electromagnetic field (EMF) radiation.
Just like UV rays, this type of radiation is totally invisible. That’s why it’s so important to know exactly what it is, where it’s coming from, the potential risks, and, most importantly, how you can protect yourself.
Before we jump into things, it’s important to note that not all EMFs are bad! Take electromagnetic therapy, for example, that uses electric fields to stimulate the body’s natural healing process. Sometimes they can do pretty amazing things… when they’re necessary.

What Is EMF Radiation?
Electromagnetic field (EMF) radiation is made up of electric and magnetic fields working together. As a result, this is the invisible energy that’s all around us. It exists across the entire electromagnetic spectrum, which includes everything from the low-frequency waves from power lines to the higher-frequency RF radiation used by cell phones and Wi-Fi.
Essentially, electromagnetic fields (EMFs) include lots of different frequencies. Some are so low we can’t see or feel them, like those from household appliances. Others, like visible light, are easily detectable by the naked eye. All of these are types of electromagnetic radiation, just at different energy levels.
As we mentioned earlier, not all types of radiation deserve a red-flag warning. Just like spending time in the sun has its benefits, certain frequencies of EMFs can be helpful, too. You can learn more about that from longevity expert Gary Brecka in our post What is the Superhuman Protocol?
Is EMF Radiation Harmful?
There’s a lot of debate about whether EMF radiation causes adverse health effects, but there is NOT a debate over whether it impacts our bodies. Even the World Health Organization acknowledges EMFs absolutely have biological effects.
So the question is: Does long-term exposure to EMFs at any frequency cause health problems? There’s research out there that says it does, and health organizations are telling people to be mindful of exposure to be safe.
Here are some problems EMF radiation may cause:
Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity
Sometimes, exposure to EMF radiation can bring on headaches, fatigue, dizziness, brain fog, or even skin sensitivity. For some, it’s because of too much exposure, but others are just naturally more sensitive to these fields.
Increased Cancer Risk
Radiofrequency EMFs from cell phones, smartwatches, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth devices can trigger oxidative stress in our bodies. When this stress isn’t kept in check, it can damage our cells and DNA.
Over time, as our body’s repair systems and immune defenses weaken, abnormal cells may not get cleared out properly. This, in turn, can lead to an increased risk of cancerous tumor growth.
Faster Aging and Tissue Degeneration
DNA damage caused by ongoing oxidative stress can actually accelerate biological aging. This means your tissues, organs, and skin cells lose their ability to repair and regenerate effectively, making your body more vulnerable to wear and tear.
As a result, you might start to look and feel physically older. We’re talking things like wrinkles, low energy, and slow healing times. This doesn’t just impact your health, it also impacts your self-esteem.
Immune System Dysfunction
When your body detects that cells are being damaged, it naturally ramps up the immune response to try and protect you. But if this immune activation goes on too long, it can lead to chronic inflammation and even trigger autoimmune reactions.
When your immune system is out of balance like this, it can cause a range of persistent symptoms like fatigue, body aches, swelling, hair loss, and more.
Impaired Brain and Nervous System Functioning
Did you know your brain actually functions off electrical activity? It’s called electroencephalogram (EEG). This is what’s responsible for recording the brain’s electrical patterns that regular sleep, memory, attention, and overall brain function.
However, EMFs can seriously disrupt your brain’s natural electrical rhythms, leading to problems like poor sleep, brain fog, difficulty concentrating, and mood swings.
Fertility or Pregnancy Issues
As our founder Lauryn says: “Keep your phone off [your] future kids!” What she means is, EMF exposure can impact sperm quality and motility, so keep your devices out of your lap.
But it’s not just guys who need to be careful. EMFs can also affect female reproductive health. Studies suggest that exposure may interfere with hormone balance, disrupt ovarian function, and even increase risks during pregnancy.
Even Chervin in his latest episode on The Him & Her Show said that he can’t stand when people have their phones in their pockets NOT in airplane mode.
Do Cell Phones Emit EMF?
Yes, cell phones emit electromagnetic fields (EMF). Specifically, they emit radiofrequency (RF) EMF, which is a type of non-ionizing radiation used to transmit signals for calls, texts, and data.
How Much EMF Does a Cell Phone Emit?
On average, cell phones typically emit between 1.6 to 2.0 W/kg. However, the true amount depends on a lot of factors.
The model of the mobile phone, the signal strength, and the level of usage all have an impact. Like if a phone is trying to get a signal or use a lot of data, it’ll emit higher levels of EMF.
To figure it out, search your phone’s model and the phrase “SAR value” to get the exact number. The latest iPhone, for example, has a max SAR of 1.6 W/kg.
How to Block Radiation From Cell Phones
Since EMF radiation can have adverse effects over time, it’s smart to take steps to protect ourselves. And because our phones are often the biggest source of EMF exposure, that’s the best place to start.
If you want more tips to keep your whole family safe, here’s more on how to protect yourself from EMF radiation:
Turn your phone on airplane mode.
To reduce your EMF exposure, try putting your phone on airplane mode when you’re not using wireless features. You can also turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and mobile data to get the same effect.
Use wired headphones and chargers.
As a rule: wireless devices = EMF radiation emitters. So if you listen to music or TV on your phone frequently, make the switch from AirPods back to wired headphones. You can also skip the wireless charger and go back to the corded version. It’s the better, EMF-free way. Michael likes to use these earbuds.
Keep your phone off your lap.
Avoid keeping your phone in your pocket or resting it on your lap. Concentrated EMF radiation around the pelvic area is definitely something to avoid. (You know, for the kids.)
Lauryn loves this EMF blanket while she’s watching a show.
Use a portable EMF-blocking device.
One of the best ways to block EMF radiation is by using an EMF-blocking device. These are great because they don’t interfere with your phone’s wireless signal. Just place them in the room and you’re protected—you can scroll or work as long as you want.
Studies have even shown these devices can significantly reduce the body’s physiological responses to wireless router radiation. That means you can still be productive on laptops or phones while getting real protective benefits.
Put your phone in an EMF-blocking case.
Like an EMF-blocking device, an EMF-blocking phone case lets all your phone’s features work as usual. Just use it and enjoy up to 75% less EMF radiation—it really is that easy. Plus, if you want to use wireless charging or Apple Pay, this case works perfectly with those, too.
You can use an EMF blocking phone sticker too. Lauryn and Michael use these ones.
Text instead of call when you can.
Texting instead of calling is a simple way to reduce your EMF exposure. When you’re on a call, your phone emits continuous radiofrequency radiation to maintain the connection. As a result? More EMF exposure close to your head.
With texting, your phone only sends brief bursts of signals. Way less exposure there! Beyond that, you can keep your phone farther away from your body. It’s a super easy, straightforward way to protect yourself throughout the day.
Get a landline for lengthy calls.
If you do need to make lengthier calls, use a landline. Yes, we’re saying consider putting a corded landline in your house. Since it’s wired, there is no concern of EMF radiation. Of course, there’s also something about the timeless novelty of a landline that makes talking on the phone more fun.
Protect yourself from EMF radiation.
Taking control of your EMF exposure is a power move for your health and peace of mind. It’s not about fear, it’s about choosing to protect your body while still living your best, tech-savvy life.
We all deserve to live in the modern world without its modern problems.
