Hot, humid weather across Egypt this week – Egypt Independent

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority revealed the expected weather forecast from Sunday, until Friday, July 8.

Hot weather will prevail during the day in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt and the northern coasts, growing very hot in South Sinai and the southern parts of the country.

Temperatures will be moderate throughout the country by night.

Meteorologists warned of a gradual rise in humidity and temperatures due to the extension of India’s seasonal monsoon in most parts.

High humidity, high temperatures

Humidity will be between 75-80 percent during the night hours over Greater Cairo, and will be at 35 percent during the day.

Humidity on the northern coasts is 85 percent at night and 55 percent during the day.

It will reach 45 percent at night, and 25 percent during the day in the governorates of South Sinai and northern Upper Egypt.

Humidity will reach 30 percent at night in the governorates of southern Upper Egypt, and 15 percent during the day.

On Sunday, temperatures are expected to reach 35C in Greater Cairo during daylight hours, and 24C at night.

The northern coastal governorates reach 31C during the day and 23C at night.

Temperatures in the southern Upper Egypt governorates will rise to 41C during the day and 27C at night.

The EMA advised citizens not to be exposed to direct sunlight during peak hours (one pm to four pm), keep hydrated, wear a head covering when exposed to direct sunlight, and wear loose, cotton clothes.

Wind activity is expected sometimes during the night hours, on areas of the northern coasts and South Sinai at intermittent periods, which reduces the feeling of high levels of humidity at night.
