Yati Narsinghanand Giri, the controversial head priest of the Dasna Devi temple in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, has released a video urging Hindus to form suicide squads and leave organizations like the Bajrang Dal and instead set up an outfit similar to ISIS.
Yati, how faces multiple FIRs for hate speeches and is out on bail, also supported the recent distribution of swords by Hindu Raksha Dal (HRD) president Pinky Chaudhary and his workers. He, however, calls it insufficient, urging them to distribute even more advanced weapons. He also praised Chaudhary in the video for their courage while calling upon members of the Hindu community to form suicide squads.

One of Narsinghanand’s bail conditions in the 2022 Haridwar hate speech case includes “an undertaking …that he will not make any statement or participate in any event or gathering that promotes disharmony or adverse effects among different communities or leads to the commission of similar offenses.”
On December 29, Hindu Raksha Dal president Pinky Chaudhary and other members of the outfit announced distribution of swords to Hindu families from their office in Ghaziabad citing atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh. They announced that if Islamic fundamentalists harassed any Hindu family in India, HRD would teach them a lesson. (Archived link 1, link 2)
Swords were distributed not only from the office but openly on the streets as well with the claim that Hindu girls were in danger from Muslims and needed to defend themselves. (Archived link 1, link 2)
pic.twitter.com/zOJI67380j

According to the FIR, Hindu Raksha Dal president Pinky Chaudhary, along with fellow activists Harsh Chaudhary, Annu, Shyam Yadav, Amit Singh, Mohit Kumar, Arun Jain, Ujala Singh, Amit Kumar, Mahendra Pradhan, Rampal, Mohit, Radheshyam, Amit Prajapati, Shravan Chandel, Kapil, along with 25-30 unidentified persons, were distributing swords at the Hindu Raksha Dal office located in Shalimar Garden Extension-02.
These individuals were also carrying swords and engaging in aggressive demonstrations and chanting slogans, which caused a chaotic situation. People on the road became frightened and abandoned their vehicles, fleeing for safety. Meanwhile, others in the surrounding areas hid inside their homes out of fear. Due to the road blockade caused by this aggressive demonstration, elderly people, children, and even ambulances were stuck in traffic. The police force and senior officers from Shalimar Garden, Sahibabad, Tila More, Link Road, and Trans Hindon areas managed to restore law and order with great difficulty.
Swords Distributed in Delhi
Just one day prior to the incident in Ghaziabad, swords had been distributed from HRD’s office in New Delhi on December 28. While the swords were being handed out, Chaudhary accused the central and Delhi governments, as well as the BJP administration in Uttar Pradesh, of failing to provide security to the Hindu community. He demanded that weapons be provided to all Hindus.
“Seeing the way our Hindu brothers are being killed by ‘jihadis’ in Bangladesh, Pakistan, and India, the Hindu Raksha Dal will no longer tolerate these atrocities and will give a befitting reply to every single atrocity committed by every jihadi. Therefore, from today, the Hindu Raksha Dal has decided to distribute weapons to every Hindu brother so that every Hindu can defend themselves against these jihadis when the time comes.” (Archived link 1, link 2)
Chaudhary’s sword distribution video was viewed by nearly 10 lakh people on Facebook. The same video received more than 11 lakh views on Instagram and was liked by more than 100,000 users. The visuals from Delhi are also being circulated widely on social media, but there is no information about any FIR being filed regarding this incident.
Pinky Chaudhary, Son Arrested on January 6
On December 29, 10 people were taken into custody by Shalimar Garden Police in connection with the sword distribution incident in Ghaziabad. The main accused, Pinky Chaudhary, the president of Hindu Raksha Dal, was arrested only on January 6, after he remained absconding for a week.
During this one week, Chaudhary was active on social media and continuously shared posts on Facebook justifying the sword distribution. In his videos, he continuously condemned police action against him.
Immediately following the arrest of 10 HRD workers, Chaudhary posted a video on Facebook and Instagram on December 29. In the video, he clearly stated that the police arrived and arrested his workers after the distribution of swords at his office on the morning of December 29. He then defended himself by citing the situation in Bangladesh and justified his actions saying that the purpose of distributing swords was simply to empower Hindu families so that they could defend themselves during times of crisis. Furthermore, on December 31, Pinky Chaudhary released another video, targeting “kathmullahs” and declared that sword distribution would continue. (Archived link 1, link 2)
After being on the hunt for Pinky Chaudhary for eight days, Ghaziabad police arrested him from Rudrapur in Delhi on January 6, 2026. Police also arrested Chaudhary’s son in the same case.

Another ‘Absconding’ Accused Active on Social Media
Annu Chaudhary, a Hindu Raksha Dal worker who was seen distributing swords and weapons to people in a viral video, is still absconding. However, he remains active on social media. He has shared posts defending his actions citing alleged conversions by Christians and the situation in Bangladesh.
On December 29, Annu Chaudhary released a video justifying the sword distribution. He urged Hindus to undergo weapons training. In the video, he states, “For cow protection and against Love Jihad, if any jihadi is seen harassing a Hindu sister, I will deal with him in the same way that Hindus are being treated in Bangladesh.” (Archived link 1, link 2)

Institutional Support to Organized Hate and Communal Polarization
The sword distribution and Yati Narsinghanand’s open endorsement of it comes within weeks of anti-Muslim hate being peddled from a programme in Delhi presented by the Union culture ministry and Delhi government. At the two-day Sanatan Rashtra Sankhanad Mahotsav held on December 13 and 14, prominent Right-wing faces offered ‘solutions’ to India’s ‘Muslim problem’. The event was organized by two groups, Save Culture Save Bharat Foundation and Sanatan Sanstha, in collaboration with the Union ministry of culture and the ministry of tourism of the Delhi government.
At this event, Rahul Diwan, the founder of Sangam Varta and Hindu Fund, advocated for the “mass conversion” of Muslims and emphasised the need to adopt “aggressive strategies” for the establishment of a constitutional Hindu Rashtra.

If this was one clear indication of institutional support behind communal polarization, the impunity offered to Yati Narsinghanand for years is no less so. Alt News has documented in detail how the Dasna temple chief has flouted his bail condition at will and repeatedly incited violence and given hate speeches of the vilest kind.
