Cashero recap and ending explained: Sang-ung’s journey of gaining powers and final showdown with Nathan

Cashero tells the story of Kang Sang-ung, a normal man, whose life is turned upside down when he unexpectedly gains a powerful ability. Sang-ung works in a civil service office and has a long-term girlfriend, Min-suk.
They are planning to get married and buy a house, but despite their consistent efforts to save money, they still fall short. One day, Sang-ung’s father summons him. Sang-ung has always been disappointed in his father.
When he was young, their family lost their business due to the IMF crisis, and his father was never financially responsible. He even took money from Sang-ung’s piggy bank, leaving Sang-ung with the belief that his father could never provide for him.
Despite his reluctance, Sang-ung goes to meet his parents. His mother is overjoyed to see him, and as he goes to meet his father, he asks Sang-ung for 10,000 won. When Sang-ung gives him the money, his father suddenly grabs his hand and breaks his fingers, causing Sang-ung intense pain and shock.
Sang-ung’s father explains that it is a family secret that every child inherits a supernatural power at a certain age. Now that he wishes to retire, he is passing the power to Sang-ung. The ability allows Sang-ung to become exceptionally strong, with his strength increasing in proportion to the money in his pocket.

However, using the power consumes the money, and he earns only 500-won coins with each action. His father warns him to collect every coin, as his pockets will always remain nearly empty, just as his own have been.
He also gives Sang-ung a business card of a loan shark, telling him to call if anything goes wrong. Sang-ung bewildered about the situation asks for the power to be taken back, but his father insists that there are no takebacks.
Despite his father’s warning not to tell anyone, Sang-ung immediately informs Min-suk. She initially refuses to believe him, suspecting that he might be trying to break up with her. To prove his power, Sang-ung bends a bar at a playground, demonstrating the strength he gains from the money in his pocket.
Min-suk then advises him not to carry too much money and to avoid using his power recklessly. Following her advice, Sang-ung begins avoiding using strength, even small act of kindness like helping others, to conserve his strength and money.
This pattern continues until one day his mother gives him 30 million won she has saved to help him buy a house for Min-suk. She tells him not to live like his father. On the way home, Sang-ung witnesses a series of traffic accidents, culminating in a bus hanging precariously from a bridge.

Despite knowing the cost, he uses his power to rescue the passengers, losing all 30 million won in the process. The bystanders records the rescue and the video goes viral. Min-suk sees the video and is upset that Sang-ung has used his power again.
Sang-ung soon encounters the loan sharks, led by Jeong-ja. He learns that his father has unpaid debts with them. Jeong-ja warns him that without her help Sang-ung will not able to survive but he ignores her and escapes. Back at home, he explains to Min-suk that he cannot stand by and watch people die when he can help them.
Later, Sang-ung’s house is destroyed by an explosion. The next day, he learns that the wedding hall hosting Min-suk’s friend’s wedding and where Min-suk is at the moment, has also caught fire. He withdraws all his savings from the bank and rushes to rescue her.
Storming in there, he evacuates the guests but before he can come out with Min-suk a man with super powers attacks them. Sang-ung grabs money from the wedding gift box and regaining enough power fights back. Two other supernatural individuals, Attorney Byeon and Bang Eun-mi, arrive to rescue them.
Attorney Byeon can pass through solid walls, and his strength increases with the amount of alcohol he consumes. Bang Eun-mi gains strength by eating, allowing her to move objects of any weight. Together, they rescue Sang-ung and Min-suk.

They later explain that an organization called Mudang Vanguard is hunting supernatural beings. The group captures these individuals, extracts their powers and injects them into their operatives to work for them. Attorney Byeon and Bang Eun-mi recruit Sang-ung to help fight Mudang Vanguard, promising to train him to control his power so that he can do more with smaller amounts of money.
Meanwhile, Anna, the daughter of Mudang Vanguard’s owner, is trying to defeat Sang-ung to take his power. As Anna fails to capture Sang-ung, the own of Mudang Vanguard contacts Sang-ung directly and offers to buy his power.
In return, he promises to pay whatever amount Sang-ung asks. With this offer Sang-ung, Attorney Byun, and Bang Eun-mi hatchs a plan and under the pretense of Sang-ung giving them his power they attack the operation base of the company and takes away useful documents.
Reviewing the documents, Attorney Byun discovers that Mudang Vanguard is using the powers extracted from supernatural beings to create drugs. Then Nathan the son of the owner is selling these drugs at a nightclub.
Anna offers to help them defeat Nathan, in return she instructs them to retrieve the extracted energy stored in Gimpo Bank. Sang-ung and the team agree to her plan with the intention of dealing with her later.

Sang-ung and the two supernatural allies successfully infiltrate the bank. However, Nathan arrives with his operatives, and a battle ensues. Sang-ung defeats Nathan’s forces, but ultimately falls unconscious. He wakes up handcuffed in a police car. But the police chief is an ally and releases him giving him a warning.
When Sang-ung returns home, he finds Min-suk has been kidnapped by Nathan and rushes to rescue her. Nathan escalates the threat by threatening Min-suk’s life with a bomb and demanding Sang-ung’s power. Sang-ung fights back and puts Nathan and himself inside the elevator with the bomb instead dies with a explosion.
However Min-suk then brings him back by going back in time with the help of the detective who has power to time travel. But with that Nathan also comes back and in a confrontation with Anna he and his allies kill her.
Later he injects himself with all the extracted powers, becoming a dangerous supernatural being. He then summons Sang-ung to confront him. Sang-ung, along with Bang Eun-mi and Attorney Byun, rushes to face him.
During the final confrontation, Sang-ung, Attorney Byeon, and Bang Eun-mi are initially overpowered by Nathan. He taunts Sang-ung, claiming no one can help him now.

Suddenly, the crowd begins throwing money to Sang-ung to help him restore his strength. Then with Bang Eun-mi and Attorney Byeon, holding Nathan’s arms back, Sang-ung deliver the final attack, defeating him.
After Nathan’s defeat, the illegal funds of Mudang Vanguard’s owner are seized, and he is taken into custody. Attorney Byeon and Bang Eun-mi return to their normal lives, while Sang-ung and Min-suk finally purchase their new apartment.
At their new home, Min-suk reveals that she is pregnant, showing Sang-ung an ultrasound photo. Overjoyed, they begin planning how to care for the baby and promise to work hard for their future together. On this note Cashero ends.
