Author getting into the Christmas spirit with romance book

A Perthshire author is already in the Christmas spirit after releasing her new book this week.

A Christmas Bluff is the latest story in the Scottish Island Escapes series by Dunkeld -based Margaret Amatt.

The book marks the end of a prolific first year of publishing for Margaret and is the fifth in her series of seasonal tales.

This year romance writer Margaret has released A Winter Haven, A Spring Retreat, A Summer Sanctuary and An Autumn Hideaway as well as this new Christmas tale.

Each book can be read as a standalone story filled with reader favourites such as fated lovers, fixer uppers, enemies to lovers and a trip gone wrong.

Readers who follow the series will catch up with characters as they pop up in future books, which are set on the gorgeous Isle of Mull.

A Christmas Bluff follows artist and photographer Georgia Rose. She has spent two carefree years on the Isle of Mull and is looking forward to a quiet Christmas, until she discovers her family is about to descend upon her, along with her past.

Aloof aristocrat Archie Crichton-Leith has let out his island mansion to a large party from the mainland. They’re expecting a castle for Christmas, not an outdated old pile, and he’s in trouble.

When Georgia turns up with an irresistible smile and an offer he cannot refuse, he is wary, but he needs her help.

As Georgia weaves her festive charms around the house, they start to work on Archie too. And the spell extends both ways. But falling in love was never part of the deal.

Margaret said: “Writing this book was an absolute delight.

“It’s packed full of Christmas fun and shenanigans. Georgia has been in all the previous books and she’s the friend everyone wants, full of laughter and joy.

“It’s time she had her own story. She confesses in an earlier book that she’s the one who believes in everything: unicorns, magic, knights in shining armour and all. Well, she’s about to get more than she ever dreamed of but it won’t be easy. Is the path of true love ever?

“Georgia and Archie have amazing chemistry from the second they meet on the page. He’s the traditional stiff-upper lip landowner, or so it seems, but scratch the surface and there’s so much more. He’s just waiting for the moment to unleash his inner self. All will be revealed this Christmas.”

Margaret, who has been writing for many years, plans on continuing the series.

All Margaret’s books are available on Amazon in eBook, Kindle Unlimited and Paperback
