JTBC’s weekend series Surely Tomorrow has released episodes 5 and 6 on December 20 and 21, 2025. The drama airs every Saturday and Sunday at 10:40 pm KST and is set to continue with episodes 7 and 8 on December 27 and 28. The lead cast includes Park Seo-joon and Won Ji-an.

Surely Tomorrow episodes 5 and 6 recap: Gyeong-do and Ji-woo rekindle amid family secrets and rast heartbreak
Episode 5 of Surely Tomorrow begins immediately after the events of episode 4. Ji-woo’s ex-husband confronts Gyeong-do asking him to leave. Gyeong-do responds by asking him to leave instead and suggests that if he wishes to meet Ji-woo, it should be in a public place during the day, such as a cafe or restaurant.
Angered by this, the ex-husband accuses Gyeong-do of reporting on his affair and threatens him, but Ji-woo also demands that he leave. The ex-husband departs, warning both of them that he will not forget the incident.
After he leaves, Ji-woo asks Gyeong-do if he is trying to stop her from going to London and if he still has feelings for her. Gyeong-do clarifies that he is there to help her become sober, drawing from his own experience with alcoholism.
He tells her that he plans to stay in her house, just as she once stayed in his and support her in doing better. Despite her protests, he settles into her home, taking over her bedroom.
Gyeong-do also brings her meals prepared by his mother and spends time with her, leaving work early to be with her. Over time, Ji-woo begins to feel more comfortable with his presence, though she continues to insist that he move out, even taking his luggage back to his house.

Gyeong-do meanwhile gives up the opportunity to attend a company-affiliated training program in Chicago. His boss points out that he made a similar choice back in 2017 when Ji-woo has reappeared in his life and warns him that the consequences of prioritizing her over the program may not turn out well. Despite the warning, Gyeong-do remains firm in his choice, determined to stay close to Ji-woo.
Their growing closeness does not go unnoticed, and mutual friends begin to speculate that they might be rekindling their past relationship. One day, Gyeong-do takes Ji-woo to an amusement park after she promises to consider joining her family’s business, Jaring Fashion, as her sister Ji-yeon wishes.
He books the entire park for them, allowing her to enjoy all the rides she wants. At the end of the day, he reminds her to keep her promise and join the family business.
The story then flashes back to 2017, several years after Ji-woo and Gyeong-do first brakes up. Ji-woo returns to Korea from USA to attend the wedding of mutual friends, where she unexpectedly runs into Gyeong-do.
They exchange brief pleasantries but do not talk much. Later, Gyeong-do obtains her contact information and meets her shows up heavily drunk and confronts her, asking why she has left for America without telling him. Ji-woo explains that she went abroad while thinking of him and struggling with the reality of their vastly different financial backgrounds.

Hearing this, Gyeong-do breaks down in tears, saying he was only a 20-year-old boy at the time. Moved by his words, Ji-woo also cries. The two finally talk through their misunderstandings and reconcile, opening up about the pain they have been carrying.
The day Ji-woo is to leave the country again, she visits Gyeong-do’s office on the day of her flight, saying she has missed her flight. Understanding her intentions, he takes her to his home, and she moves in with him.
They begin living together again rekindling their relationship. Both are happy spending their days together until Gyeong-do’s father falls critically ill. He gets hospitalized with serious condition, causing Gyeong-do stay there with his mother for days, leaving Ji-woo alone in his house.
While alone, Ji-woo feels extremely lonely but endures it, waiting for Gyeong-do to return. When he briefly comes back, she reassures him not to worry about her and urges him to focus on his father’s health.
One day, Ji-woo’s sister Ji-yeon visits and reveals that Ji-woo is not their father’s biological child. Ji-yeon urges Ji-woo to leave the country. She warns her that their mother’s hatred toward her could extend to Gyeong-do, and that Gyeong-do may not have the strength to take care of her given his father’s condition.

Ji-woo, torn by the decision, recalls her mother’s past treatment of Gyeong-do and decides to follow Ji-yeon’s advice. She leaves Gyeong-do’s house without informing him. When he returns and finds her gone.
The story returns to the present. One day, Gyeong-do is to meet Ji-yeon, but she cannot recognize him. Hearing her, he rushes to her side and takes care of her. When she eventually regains her memory Gyeong-do tells her that Ji-woo is ready to begin working at the office.
Ji-yeon remarks that it is ironic she now needs Gyeong-do’s help to keep Ji-woo in the country, when in the past, it has been because of her that Ji-woo has left both Gyeong-do and the country. Ji-yeon later meets Ji-woo and tells her that it is because of her that Gyeong-do has prevented Ji-woo from leaving.
She explains that he has wanted to stop her from going abroad and rushed to the airport after learning her flight details. Hearing this, Ji-hyo is overjoyed and decides to join the company. Although she feels undeserving of a place in the family business, she wants to work alongside Ji-yeon.
Following this, Ji-yeon informs her husband about her decision to join the company. He becomes nervous and begins meeting secretly with administrators to plan selling the business. Meanwhile, Ji-woo’s ex meets Ji-yeon’s husband and reveals his intent to reconcile with Ji-woo.

After learning from Ji-yeon that her words had caused Ji-woo to leave the country a second time, Gyeong-do confronts Ji-woo. She explains the visit from Ji-yeon that has prompted her departure.
A few days later, friends of Gyeong-do and Ji-woo organize a party to celebrate her joining the company and another friend’s birthday. Gyeong-do confides in a friend that he cares deeply for Ji-woo but is unsure about her feelings for him.
Their friend rebukes him and urges him to act on his feelings. As they leave the party, Ji-woo offers to give him a ride, but he refuses and stops her from going to her house, telling her to stay with him. Episode 6 of Surely Tomorrow ends with this.
