Happy Tuesday! I’ve got a new try-on haul to share with you today. I rounded up all of my recent try-ons from EVEREVE, Nordstrom, Gap Factory, J.Crew, and more. As always, I’m sharing honest reviews, fit tips, and which pieces actually earned a spot in my closet.
Sizing Notes: I’m 5’5″and usually wear a small or medium in tops and coats, and a 29 or 30 in jeans.
EVEREVE Fitting Room Try-Ons
I met a friend at the mall last week, and of course, we made a beeline for EVEREVE! I found a few fun pieces that feel like a nice refresh for the rest of winter—easy to wear, but a little more interesting than my usual basics.
EVEREVE Bennett Stretch Bomber Jacket

MY THOUGHTS: This soft pink bomber immediately caught my eye. It’s a bit unexpected for a jacket, but pinks are having a moment right now, and I’m feeling drawn to them. It feels like a nice break from the neutrals I usually live in, while still pairing really well with them.
I also really liked the feel of this jacket. It’s substantial enough to layer over a sweater on a cold day, but it has a good amount of stretch, so it’s comfortable and easy to wear over a t-shirt.
VERDICT: I went back and forth on this one because I wasn’t sure how often I’d reach for it, but in the end, I decided it was different enough to bring home with me.
Cpress Studio Wastin Time Mushie Tee

MY THOUGHTS: I love a good graphic tee, and this one definitely caught my attention—especially paired with the pink jacket. The graphic is fun without feeling over-the-top, and it adds a little personality to an otherwise simple outfit.
That said, it runs quite small. I’m wearing a large here, and it still feels a bit snug. Personally, I don’t think I’d want to wear it on its own without a jacket layered over it.
VERDICT: I decided to leave this one in the store.
Z Supply Breen Crew Soft Cardigan in Serene Blue

MY THOUGHTS: I already own this sweater in the Burnt Ash color, and I like it so much that I wanted to try on this blue version while I was in the store. The color is really pretty and feels fresh for winter, and if you’re in the market for a lightweight cardigan, I’d definitely recommend giving it a try, especially if you can’t wear wool or live in a warmer climate.
For me, though, it’s not quite as warm as some of my other sweaters, and I ultimately decided I don’t need the same style in two colors.
Best for: Mild winter days, layering, warmer climates, or anyone who prefers non-wool knits.
VERDICT: I left this one behind, as well.
EVEREVE Marilyn Cardigan in Bright Coral

MY THOUGHTS: This sweater is fairly simple at first glance, but the bold coral color immediately drew me in. The shiny silver buttons add just enough interest to elevate it beyond a basic crewneck cardigan.
The knit is soft and stretchy, making it really comfortable to wear, and it’s another great non-wool option for those who are sensitive.
Styling Note: I tried this buttoned up and also with a few buttons undone at the top and bottom, which feels like a more current way to wear it. You can see the difference here—it just opens it up a bit so it doesn’t look so stuffy.
It does run on the shorter side, so it looks best with high-rise jeans or pants.
VERDICT: Love it. Bought it!
EVEREVE Codey Plated Crew Sweater Top

MY THOUGHTS: I fully expected to love this one. I’d noticed it online and was really excited to try it on, but it fell a little short for me—no pun intended.
On me, it looked a bit too short and boxy, even though I usually like that silhouette. And while the color-blocking is pretty, the fabric felt more chenille-like than I expected and, overall, not quite the quality I was hoping for.
VERDICT: I left this one behind.
EVEREVE Kristi Sparkle Stripe Pullover

MY THOUGHTS: This one is really simple, but for some reason, I really loved the fit and the feel of it. It’s just easy and cute, and the metallic stripes give it a subtle festive vibe, but not so much that I can’t waer it after the holidays.
VERDICT: I bought this one!
More Random Try-Ons from J.Crew, EVEREVE, Nordstrom, and More
I’ve got a few more pieces to show you from orders that have been trickling in over the past couple of weeks—mostly coats and tops, plus a pair of jeans I’m really liking.
J.Crew Scarf coat in drapey wool blend in Dark Camel
at J.Crew (S) // MOTHER Bookie (29) // Dolce Vita Faint (8.5)
PRODUCT DETAILS: Pairing clean tailoring with easy drape, this coat is crafted from a soft, lightweight wool blend with a touch of TENCEL™-lyocell and left unlined, so layering over chunky sweaters is simple. MY THOUGHTS: I love a scarf coat, and this one is especially nice. The fabric has a very soft, brushed feel, and I like that the scarf is securely sewn on at the back. For comparison, my Zara scarf coat has a detachable scarf that’s attached with a small button, which doesn’t feel nearly as secure.
I will say, the Zara version is a bit more comfortable at the neck—this one sits higher. That aside, it’s a really beautiful coat. Chic, polished, and very nice quality.
VERDICT: I’ve bought a lot of coats lately, including this one in a similar color and fabric, so I’m not sure I’ll keep this. That said, it’s gorgeous, and I’d highly recommend it if a scarf coat is on your wish list.
Faherty Apres Colorblock Long Sleeve Waffle Knit Top

PRODUCT DETAILS: Laid back and built for layering, this colorblocked crew channels casual comfort with elevated detail. Cut from soft, organic cotton in a textured knit, it’s the perfect go-between for cool mornings and chilly nights.

MY THOUGHTS: I ordered this hoping to have something lighter to wear under a few of my winter vests. While the color blocking is fun, the length didn’t quite work for me, and the fabric felt thicker and stiffer than I was expecting. I was really looking for something a bit softer.
That said, the quality is definitely there. It just wasn’t the right fit or feel for what I had in mind.
VERDICT: Probably returning this one.
Barbour Winter Beadnell Waterproof Jacket

MY THOUGHTS: I’ve had my eye on this jacket for a while, but I hadn’t seen it in person. When I was walking through Nordstrom last week and spotted a whole rack of them, I had to stop and try one on—and I absolutely loved it.
Lately, I’ve been struggling to find a casual winter coat that isn’t as bulky as my Aritzia puffers. My old Burberry quilted jacket, which I’ve often worn for this purpose, is starting to feel snug, and the more fitted silhouette doesn’t feel quite right this season. I don’t always want a wool coat, and while I love my green quilted Barbour with the corduroy collar, it’s sometimes not warm enough—and the color doesn’t always work with what I’m wearing.
This jacket is exactly what I’ve been looking for. It has enough insulation to keep me warm, the outer layer is waterproof, and the length is just right—not too long or too short. I also love the straighter, classic shape: not oversized, not fitted, just easy and timeless. It feels like the kind of coat I’ll have for years, and it would be great for winter travel, too—which is definitely something I need to start planning.
VERDICT: I actually ordered this from Bloomingdale’s, where it was on sale (it wasn’t at Nordstrom). I probably could have asked for a price match, but I didn’t feel like carrying it around the mall, so I just ordered it from my phone.
Uniqlo PUFFTECH Parka

- Care: Gently hand wash, rinse lightly, and spin for a short time. Reshape while damp, hang to dry in the shade, and before it is completely dry, loosen the padding, then hang it up to dry again. If there are any lumps or shifting, lightly adjust them.
MY THOUGHTS: I ordered this coat when I was looking for something casual that wasn’t as heavy as my larger puffers, and it actually arrived the same day I found the Barbour at the mall. This one fills a slightly different role, though, and I can see it being a really useful option to have.
It’s lighter and shorter, with a fun, sporty vibe. I love the rounded hem and easy silhouette, and the color is really pretty. The attachable hood is a nice practical touch, too.
At this point, my coat situation is getting a little out of control—but this feels like a good, affordable option to add to the mix.
VERDICT: I might be keeping this one, too. 😳
A little context here: while I am filling real wardrobe gaps, it’s worth keeping in mind that I don’t shop like a “normal” person. My turnover is higher and faster because keeping my closet current is part of how I create relevant content and share personally vetted advice with you.
LNA Joey Henley Sweatshirt

MY THOUGHTS: I absolutely love this top. It’s super soft and cozy on the inside, and the green color feels fresh and fun—different from anything I already own. At first, I wasn’t sure how I felt about it paired with blue jeans, but I think it works just fine. (The sales associates assured me I was overthinking it… imagine that!)
It also looks really good with washed black denim, the way I wore it here:

The adjustable toggle hem is a fun detail, but I definitely prefer it cinched in a bit. Left loose, it had more of an A-line shape than I wanted.
VERDICT: Bought it, love it, and I’ve already worn it twice.
Gap Factory CashSoft Relaxed Crewneck Sweater in Love Letter Pink

MY THOUGHTS: For a more budget-friendly option (on sale for $28!), this sweater is a really good find. I love the bold pink color, but if bright shades aren’t your thing, it does come in several other colors as well.
The fabric is very soft and comfortable, and it’s another nice non-wool option if you need one.
Fit Tip: I’d recommend sizing up if you want a more relaxed fit.
VERDICT: I would prefer it to fit a little looser through the hem, so I returned it, but I may reorder it in a medium while it’s such a great price.
KUT from the Kloth Kelsey Jean in Rigor

MY THOUGHTS: I already own and love these jeans in the rust color, so when I saw them in this blue wash, I decided to order them. I wasn’t necessarily in the market for another pair of kick flares, but I actually really like how these look styled casually with sneakers and clogs.
They feel like a nice alternative to the relaxed straight-leg styles I’ve been wearing a lot lately, while still feeling easy and familiar.
VERDICT: Thinking of keeping these!

MY THOUGHTS: Let’s end on a high note. I love this Fair Isle mockneck sweater from Gap Factory, and the price is fantastic. It has a really nice fit and feel, and the Fair Isle pattern is so pretty.
I’ve already worn this exact outfit to church, and I think it’ll be a great piece to have on hand for the rest of the season. It does go in and out of stock, so if you don’t see your size right now, it’s worth checking back.
