Nice to Not Meet You episodes 9–10 recap: Misunderstandings, unexpected encounters, confessions and deals
Episode 9 of Nice to Not Meet You opens with Wi Jung-sin meeting Im Hyun-jun’s writer instead of Im Hyun-jun himself. Jung-sin assumes she is meeting the person she has been chatting with through the online selling app, unaware of the switch. Im Hyun-jun observes the meeting from afar and feels disappointed and unsettled.
He has developed an interest in Jung-sin, but he doesn’t realize she is the person he is supposed to meet. Watching her interact with someone else on his behalf leaves him regretful for sending a substitute and frustrated by the misunderstanding.
Initially, Jung-sin is skeptical, suspecting that the person she is meeting might not be the app contact. The confusion clears up when the writer gets help from Im Hyun-jun and plays along convincingly.
Believing she is finally face-to-face with the person she has been talking to, Jung-sin confesses her feelings. However, as planned with Hyun-jun, the writer rejects her, leaving Jung-sin heartbroken as she returns home.
Meanwhile, Hyun-jun is deeply unsettled by the situation. He returns home unable to stop thinking about it and he is caught off guard upon realizing that Jung-sin is his fan. To check if she is really a fan, the next day, he arranges a meeting with her under the pretext of giving her something exclusive.

When she arrives, he presents her with merchandises of Kang Pil-gu, the character he plays in the detective show. Jung-sin is surprised but delighted, taking the items home with a subtle smile and not showing her true feelings.
Simultaneously, Jung-sin’s brother begins working in a supporting role alongside Hyun-jun and is impressed by his considerate personality. Hyun-jun, now aware that Jung-sin is his fan, treats her brother kindly on set. Meanwhile, Hyun-jun’s own brother is cast as the younger version of his character. Hyun-jun is not thrilled about this casting choice but accepts it since he cannot change it.
On the other hand, Ju Jae-hyeong, the head of the sports department, still harbors feelings for Jung-sin. One day, he runs into her brother, who mentions that Jung-sin has been recently rejected by the guy she likes.
Encouraged by this information, Jae-hyeong begins making his move. His intentions are noticed by Jung-sin’s boss, Yun Hwa-yeong, who has been in a relationship with him and now wants to pursue him seriously.
Meanwhile, Jung-sin is wary of Jae-hyeong, knowing his older brother, Chairman Lee, is tied to a corruption case she is investigating. Suspicious of Jae-hyeong as well, she consults Yun Hwa-yeong, who reassures her that Jae-hyeong is nothing like his elder brother.

Later, Jung-sin hesitates about an upcoming interview with Hyun-jun and asks Hwa-yeong to handle it. Hwa-yeong meets Hyun-jun and directly asks if he has feelings for Jung-sin. Hyun-jun laughs it off initially, dismissing the question. Hwa-yeong then proposes a plan that since she is interested in Jae-hyeong and Hyun-jun is drawn to Jung-sin, they should collaborate to get closer to the people they care about.
To execute this plan, Hwa-yeong assigns Jung-sin to cover Hyun-jun exclusively by following him around, reporting on him and writing exclusives about his work and upcoming series. When filming begins, Jung-sin arrives on set, interviews Hyun-jun, and takes behind-the-scenes photos. Meanwhile, Hyun-jun deletes his account from the online market, making her disheartened.
During the shoot, she overhears Hyun-jun’s stunt double mentioning his ankle being sprained. She notices that Hyun-jun has also heard this and soon announces he will perform all the stunts himself despite back pain from a previous shoot. This impresses her. He pushes through and ends up being seriously hurt.
Further, Hyun-jun’s acting, his action skill and the way he rescues a female character impress Jung-sin deeply. She also imagines herself as the character who is being saved. Later, Hyun-jun wants to have dinner with Jung-sin but sprains his ankle during shooting and is taken to the hospital. Before leaving, he tells her to write an exclusive piece on his injury, smiling at her, leaving Jung-sin confused and flustered.
At the hospital, Hwa-yeong visits Hyun-jun, and the two continue planning their strategy. After his discharge, Hwa-yeong arranges for Jung-sin to attend a movie premiere, giving her ticket to the movie event where Hyun-jun is also present.

Jung-sin is surprised to see him there. Hyun-jun, cheerful and eager, tries to use this moment to get closer to her. However, Ju Jae-hyeong arrives with his mother, who is a veteran actress, dampening Hyun-jun’s mood.
During the premiere, Jung-sin receives a call from Kwon Sae-na, asking to meet immediately. Jung-sin rushes out, prompting Hyun-jun to leave the theater as well, disappointed. At the meeting, Sae-na informs Jung-sin that Chairman Lee’s agency, which manages her career, and Hyun-jun’s agency are connected to the corruption case she is investigating. It is later revealed that Sena acted under Chairman Lee’s instructions, deliberately trying to mislead Jung-sin.
The next day, Hwa-yeong invites herself to have brunch with Jae-hyeong and openly declares that she wants to spend more time with him. Later, both go to separate meetings at a same restaurant. Jae-hyeong goes to have meeting with his brother and Hyun-jun, while Hwa-yeong with Jung-sin.
After the meetings, as the four exit the restaurant, they unexpectedly run into each other. Jae-hyeong asks Jung-sin for tea and she reluctantly agrees. Hwa-yeong immediately declares that she is also joins in. Following her Hyun-jun also decides to tag along, leaving Jung-sin extremely surprised. With this episodes 9 and 10 of Nice to Not Meet You end.
