The Sam Edelman peplum leather jacket comes in a gorgeous dark brown tone and is 100% genuine leather — for around $350 — yes, real leather! The subtle peplum brings a flattering, feminine shape to an otherwise edgy piece.

#2: Veronica Beard Mixed Media Jacket 

If you’re looking for outerwear that’s versatile, flattering, and a little unexpected… the Veronica Beard “Patra” Jacket checks all the boxes.

A great jacket needs a strong supporting cast — and the pair I’m wearing above, the Veronica Beard “Taylor” High-Rise Jeans deliver! These wide-leg jeans have a trouser-inspired silhouette that adds polish, while still feeling easy and wearable with any of the statement jackets in this edit.

• Super high-rise waist highlights waist and elongates legs
• Wide-leg cut lengthens even more and balances proportions 
• Inseam is listed as 32.5″, but they are not long on me — I’m wearing them with a small 2-inch heel and they’re just right! I’m 5’4″ for reference. (I would skip these if you are tall.)

To complete the look, I styled them with the Stuart Weitzman “Vinnie” Booties — a sleek sock-style boot with a 2” kitten heel that adds just the right amount of height. I could run laps in these, they’re so comfy (*for heels). Brand note, any Stuart Weitzman boot I’ve purchased has lasted for many, many years. I still have my black sock booties from almost 10 years ago.

One Last Showstopper 

I know I specifically said, jackets, but I couldn’t resist sharing one last showstopper with you all. The “Carrie” coat by SIMKHAI, is one of my favorite finds of the season. It’s beautiful, elegant, and truly a standout coat that I’ll be picking up time and time again. It has fringe trim along the hem and collar of the coat which gives a subtle western flair. Both western details and the color chocolate brown are VERY on trend this season, which is just another reason to fall in love with this one.

With a longer length, tie waist, and the fringe detailing, this piece brings a little fashion drama (in the best way).
