Hi friends! I wanted to slip in one more try-on before I leave for Iceland, and I found some really good pieces to share with you today. It’s a fun mix of transitional styles from some of my favorite retailers—versatile pieces you can wear now and straight into the new season.
As usual, I will provide measurements and fabric content on each item when I can find it, and I’ll share whether I plan to keep it or not. Just remember, even when I decide not to keep something, it doesn’t mean it isn’t worth checking out. I just may not need it, or it may not work for my body type or lifestyle.
Z Supply Saunder Track Pant
at EVEREVE (S) // LOFT sweater (M) // Gola Viper (7.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Cool and comfortable, the Saunder Track Pants by Z Supply feature a relaxed, wide leg silhouette with an adjustable tie waist, side pockets, vertical seam detailing, and sporty side stripes.
- Measurements: 31″ inseam; 11 1/2″ leg opening; 11 3/4″ front rise
- Material: 100% Polyester Woven
- Care: Machine Wash, Hang To Dry, Iron Low
MY THOUGHTS: This was my first attempt at trying track pants, and while I really like the color combo, the fabric wasn’t what I expected. It’s more of a woven than a knit, which does make them easier to dress up or down, but it also felt a little rough — not exactly the comfort I was hoping for! Fit-wise, the size small was snug through the hips and too long in the inseam. (I only ordered the one size.) All in all, I don’t think these are the right pair for me.

I styled them with a beige sweater tee and taupe suede Gola sneakers to pick up the beige stripe down the side. It creates a nice bridge between dressy and casual, but the look still feels a little safe. I think these would work better if I committed one way or the other: keep it casual with a tee and sneakers, or lean into the juxtaposition with a Mary Jane flat and the sweater.
VERDICT: I’ll be returning these, but I’m curious if any of you have tried them, or have another pair to recommend?

PAIGE Quincy Ankle Straight Leg Jeans
at Nordstrom & EVEREVE (29) // LOFT sweater (M) // Gola Viper (7.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Super stretchy denim enhances the sleek, classic silhouette of mid-rise straight-leg jeans that play a key role in your casual wardrobe.
- Measurements: 27″ inseam; 15 1/2″ leg opening; 10 1/2″ front rise
- Material: 57% Cotton, 34% Rayon, 6% Lycra Elasterell-P, 3% Lycra Spandex Twill
- Care: Machine wash, line dry
MY THOUGHTS: I really like the color of these jeans, although they feel more like pants to me. The straight, ankle-length fit is flattering, and the utility pockets are a nice touch. I especially appreciate how the pockets are slanted on the sides, so they don’t create a harsh horizontal line across the hips.

The fabric feels high-quality, with the right balance of stretch and structure, and I can tell they’d hold their shape well. Of course, they’re PAIGE, so that’s what I’d expect. Fit-wise, the size 29 was just a smidge too tight through the middle, and with the 10 ½” rise hitting right where I carry a bit of “fluff,” I think I’d be more comfortable sizing up.
VERDICT: Overall, they’re really nice, but I don’t love them. For that price point, I need to love them, so I sent them back. Still, if you like the look, I think they’re worth a try.

KUT from the Kloth Ashton Barrel Utility
at EVEREVE (6) // LOFT sweater (M) // Steve Madden Ira (8)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Add a touch of utility-inspired style to your wardrobe with the Ashton barrel leg pant by KUT from the Kloth. Finished with darting at the knees, these high-rise pants feature a relaxed fit, cropped hems, and utility pockets at the front and back.
- Button Fly
- Measurements: 17″ leg opening; 11 1/2 front rise
- Material: 54% Cotton, 22% Polyester, 14% Lyocell, 9% Rayon, 1% Spandex Denim
- Care: Machine Wash, Wash Cold, Tumble Dry Low
MY THOUGHTS: Now, this pair I love—in fact, I did a whole post on them! As soon as I pulled them on, they felt so comfortable. The fabric is lightweight with just the right amount of stretch, and they don’t pull or bind anywhere. I’m generally not a huge fan of the barrel shape on me, but this pair is a nice compromise.
The comments on yesterday’s post were interesting. Several of you mentioned these don’t really look like barrel-leg jeans, and they’re definitely a more subtle take—which is exactly why I like them. When I’m not sure about a trend but still want to participate, I look for a version with the same characteristics in a less dramatic way. These have the bowed shape and darts at the knees, but they also edge into relaxed straight or slim wide-leg territory. That overlap, along with the subtle barrel details, keeps them current without feeling over the top. It’s all about nuance.
As far as styling options, I like how they look with the raffia mules in the photo above, especially the way they “bookend” the outfit with the oatmeal sweater. But with fall fast approaching, I wanted to see how they would pair with more transitional shoe styles. They definitely work with the Dolce Vita Roslyn Mary Jane Flats, and the playful leopard mesh print adds some personality while still keeping the outfit grounded.

Next, I wanted to see how they look with ankle boots, so I tried them with the Blondo Marcie in Java Suede (which are on sale, by the way!)

Unfortunately, the shaft is too low to work well with the ankle-length pants, I don’t like how they get hung up on the tab on the back.

But the Aquatalia Roza has a higher, slimmer shaft, and they work just fine with these. I’d probably wear a long sleeve top or jacket on top if I wore boots with these, but at least you can see how they work with various footwear options.

VERDICT: Keeping! I’ve already worn these once and love them. They don’t scream “barrel,” but they give a nod to the trend, which keeps them current while still giving me the fit I feel good in.

Pistola Denim Lexi Midrise Bowed in Sandollar
at Nordstrom (30) // AllSaints Anna (M) / // Black Suede Studio Gabby Loafers (39)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Refresh your casual look with relaxed-fit, nonstretch jeans that curve out slightly at the knees to create a modern silhouette.
- Measurements: 29″ inseam; 18″ leg opening; 11″ front rise
- Material: 100% cotton
- Care: Machine wash, tumble dry
MY THOUGHTS: This pair of barrel jeans has a slightly more exaggerated shape—not too extreme, but definitely noticeable. My main issue is the length. I feel like barrel jeans look best when they hit at the ankle, and these are just a bit too long on me. It puts them in that awkward in-between zone. Maybe as we move into cooler months, we’ll start seeing more full-length versions, but on me, this pair just felt off.

That said, I do like the color, although it looks more like spring than fall. It’s not quite camel (which is supposed to be a big trend this fall), but more of a flax shade.
VERDICT: These went back. I like the idea of them and think they could work for someone else, but between the length and the color, they just weren’t quite right for me.

LNA Loma Crew Neck Sweater Top
at EVEREVE (M) // MOTHER Insider Flood (on sale!) (31) // Black Suede Studio Gabby Loafers (39)

PRODUCT DETAILS: A subtle animal print defines the Loma Sweater by LNA, featuring a crew neckline, cap sleeves, and a slightly cropped silhouette.
- Length from Shoulder to Hem: 20 3/4″
- Material: 77% Acrylic 20% Nylon 3% Spandex Knit
- Care: Hand Wash, Wash Cold, Dry Flat
MY THOUGHTS: This sweater caught my eye right away. I love that it’s an animal print without being too literal. I usually need to size up in this brand, so I ordered the medium (which I’m wearing here). While it’s meant to have a loose fit, it felt a little too oversized overall, so I re-ordered it in a small.

Here it is in the small, paired with the Pistola Lexi bowed jeans and Black Suede Studio loafers in a similar shade of brown (more on those below).

The color combo works nicely, but I’m not loving the two relaxed silhouettes together—it feels like they’re competing a bit. I think this sweater will shine more with a slimmer jean or trouser for better balance. That said, I do like the fit better in the small.

VERDICT: I’m keeping the small! I hope to get a chance to wear it at least once before we leave on our trip because I’m not sure what the weather holds when we get back. I might even tuck it into my suitcase in case we have some mild weather in London.

Black Suede Studio Gabby Backless Leather Loafers in Hot Fudge Suede
at Black Suede Studio and at Shopbop (39) // PAIGE Leenah Ankle (29) // LNA Loma Sweater Tee (M)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Round toe loafer slip on mule. Made with brushed kid suede. This item runs small. we recommend sizing up.
- Upper: Suede
- Vamp strap
- Lining: Leather
- Slip on
- Round toe
- Rubber sole
MY THOUGHTS: I’m a huge fan of a loafer mule, and I’ve missed seeing them around the past few seasons—so I was thrilled to spot them popping up again. This pair is particularly sleek and gorgeous with its minimalist vamp strap styling. They remind me of a black suede pair of Rebecca Minkoff loafer mules I loved and wore for years.

The suede feels super luxe, and they’re lined with leather for added comfort. Fit-wise, they do run small, just as the website suggested. I’m almost always a size 39 in Euro sizing, and these just fit.
VERDICT: Keeping! I cannot wait to start wearing them.

Sanctuary Barn Jacket
at EVEREVE (S) // LNA Loma Crew (M) // MOTHER Insider Flood (on sale!) (31) // Black Suede Studio Gabby Loafers (39)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Refresh your layering collection with this chic barn jacket by Sanctuary. Finished with a contrasting corduroy collar, this zip-up jacket features a longer length and front patch pockets.
- Length from Shoulder to Hem: 30″
- Material: 100% Cotton Woven
- Care: Machine Wash, Wash Cold, Tumble Dry Low
MY THOUGHTS: Barn jackets are back again this fall—and more popular than ever! Even though I already have one I love, I ordered this one out of curiosity. I thought I might like the light oat color, but it feels a little too stark for me, probably because I gravitate toward darker tones in the fall.

That said, it’s a nice option if you like the look. It does run big, so size down if you’re in between.
VERDICT: Returning, but a good pick if you prefer lighter neutrals for fall.

cloth and stone Bandana Print Tank Top
at EVEREVE (S) // MOTHER Dazzler Flood (30) // Margaux Demi (8.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Elevate your day-to-night wardrobe with the Bandana Print Tank by Cloth & Stone
- Length from Shoulder to Hem: 23″
- Material: 100% Rayon Woven
- Care: Machine Wash, Do Not Dry Clean, Wash Cold, Tumble Dry Low, Do Not Bleach, Iron Low
MY THOUGHTS: I thought this top was so fun—a definite departure from my usual style, but the black-and-white print keeps it from feeling too kitschy or overly sweet. I even brought it with me to Nashville, but never ended up wearing it. In the end, I still felt a little silly in it.
VERDICT: Not for me, but it’s a nice-quality top and a fun piece if it fits your style!

MOTHER Hustler Roller Sneak in Not Today Satan
at MOTHER, Bloomingdale’s, EVEREVE, Anthro & $50 off at Saks (30) // LOFT wedge sweater (M) // Sam Edelman Saige (8.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS: 70s-inspired wide leg jeans with a high rise, 32-inch inseam and a clean hem. Designed in a stretch cotton blend, Not Today Satan is a black wash with whiskering, fading and tonal hardware.
- Zip fly, button closure
- Measurements: 32″ inseam; 24″ leg opening; 11″ rise
- Material: 78% Cotton 16% Modal 4% Polyester 2% Elastane
- Care: Machine wash
MY THOUGHTS: I’m already a fan of this denim style, so when I saw them in the washed black, I immediately clicked ‘Add to Cart’ during the Anthro Labor Day sale, and they did not disappoint! The fabric is thick, stretchy, and super comfortable, and I love the full-length, sleek wide-leg silhouette. It’s on trend without feeling exaggerated or overwhelming on my frame. The wash is perfection, with just the right amount of fading and whiskering. I also really appreciate the tonal hardware; it’s more understated than a contrasting metallic and never clashes with other metals in my outfit.

My only “issue” is the length, but that’s just selfish on my part. A 31″ inseam would be more versatile with my lower heels, but I don’t want to mess with the hems, so I’ll reserve them for wearing with heels, like these Sam Edelman Saige Booties.
VERDICT: Love the fit, the wash, and the details—definitely a keeper.

EVEREVE Bobbie Zip Utility Jacket
at EVEREVE (S) // LOFT wedge sweater (M) // MOTHER Hustler Roller Sneak (30) // Sam Edelman Saige (8.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Layer any look with this versatile utility jacket by EVEREVE. Finished in lyocell-blend fabric, the Bobbie jacket features a front zipper closure, adjustable tie hem, and patch chest pockets.
- Length from Shoulder to Hem: 22 1/2″
- Material: 98% Lyocell, 2% Spandex
- Care: Machine Wash Cold, Tumble Dry Low
MY THOUGHTS: EVEREVE has done it again with one of their transitional jackets! I absolutely love this raisin color, the boxy fit, and the perfectly cropped 22 ½” length. It’s the kind of piece that will work with so many different jeans and pants this fall.

VERDICT: Keeping—this one feels fresh and versatile, and I know I’ll reach for it often.

EVEREVE Harper Matte Coated Tee
at EVEREVE (M) // MOTHER Hustler Roller Sneak (30) // boots

PRODUCT DETAILS: Elevate your night-out look with the Harper sleeveless tee by EVEREVE, finished in coated knit fabric with a v-neckline and vertical front seam detail.
- Length from Shoulder to Hem: 22 3/8″
- Material: 95% Polyester, 5% Spandex Coated Knit
- Care: Machine Wash, Wash Cold, Dry Flat
MY THOUGHTS: This top has such a nice shape and fit, and once again, I’m loving this “raisin” color. The coated knit fabric gives it a dressier edge, making it perfect for date nights or casual dinners out. It will also be a great layering piece once the weather cools down.
VERDICT: Keeping—I love the color and the versatility of this piece.
WHBM Short Sleeve Pret Relaxed Utility Jacket
at WHBM (S) // AllSaints Anna (M) // MOTHER Weekend Fray Flare – 40% off! (31) // Blondo Marcie (8.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS: We’ve designed a short-sleeve version of our Pret relaxed utility jacket for cool summer nights. Oversized cargo pockets on the front with buttons, shoulder epaulets, tabs on the cuffs and a high funnel collar give this casual jacket extra style. A drawstring at the waist and neck allows you to cinch as relaxed or tight as you wish.
- Cinched hem + collar
- Length: 21”
- Material: 98% Cotton, 2% Spandex
- Care: Machine wash cold

MY THOUGHTS: I thought this was such a fun idea—a short-sleeve utility jacket—and I do love the short, boxy fit. The silver hardware is a nice contrast, but it also feels like a lot. I’d need to experiment with styling options because I don’t really love how it looks over a plain white tee. I’m also not sure how much wear I’d get out of it, especially since we’re heading into fall and I’ll be away for the next two weeks.
(As an aside, these jeans are back on sale! They have such a good fit, but they run small—I sized up to the 31 for a comfortable fit.)
VERDICT: I’ll probably return this one, but it really is a cute piece if it fits your style and climate.
And that’s a wrap for this try-on haul! I hope it gave you a few ideas for freshening up your fall wardrobe. As always, I’d love to hear which pieces stood out to you!
