More than 150 representatives of the largest Russian and international companies will discuss international projects
The government of Moscow is implementing Sergei Sobyanin’s large-scale project ‘Moscow – city of cinema’, which includes modernisation of existing facilities and creation of new infrastructure, as well as development of special services to increase the volume of production of quality film content of international level. In 2024, about 120 projects were filmed on the sites of the Moscow film cluster, 2.5 times more than a year earlier. It is expected that by 2030, up to 80 per cent of Russian films will be filmed on the basis of the infrastructure of the Moscow film cluster.
Along with the Gorky Film Studio, the Moscow cinema cluster includes the Moskino cinema park, the Moskino cinema factory (modern full-cycle cinematographer), the network of Moskino cinemas. The digital film platform Moskino and the Moskino film commission are also working as part of the cluster.
Business programme
At the Moskino film factory, a business programme will be held on August 24 and 25. The programme will feature sessions dedicated to current issues in the development of the industry. More than 150 representatives of major Russian and foreign companies including China, India, Turkey, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Brazil will discuss international projects, the use of artificial intelligence in the process of creating films and series, and the opportunities that Moscow offers for filming.
International experts will be introduced to Moskino’s digital infrastructure and will visit key film production studios in the capital.
Film exchange and interest in Moscow
International participants of Moscow International Film Week note the growing interest in developing the industry in the Russian capital and are eager to learn how the filming system in Moscow works from the inside. City residents and visitors will also be able to attend open meetings, receive posters and souvenirs signed by celebrity guests.
Moscow welcomes world cinema stars
Emir Kusturica, one of Europe’s most acclaimed directors, will once again visit Moscow, this time as part of the business program of Moscow International Film Week.
