Live: Tigers vs Titans at Leichhardt Oval
Bang bang from the Titans!
Brian Kelly breaks down the left flank and can’t link up with AJ Brimson in support.
But the Tigers’ defence is shot on the next play, Jeral Skelton finds himself marking no-one and Jayden Campbell kicks early over the top and it’s perfectly weighted for Jaylan de Groot to score his second for the day.
Phil Sami gets one back for the Titans
The Titans catch the short dropout and spin it left, where Klese Haas skips past the onrushing defence and finds the outside men.
Phil Sami dives in and gets up limping after Latu Fainu lands on his legs in cover defence.
And Kieran Foran is sucking in the big ones after copping a rib-rattler from Starford Toa.
Another missed conversion from Jayden Campbell, who’s kicking into the breeze in this half.
30′ Tino Fa’asuamaleaui is off the field
The Gold Coast trainers fear a lateral meniscus injury in the left knee.
He hasn’t been completely ruled out, but even if he makes it through this game, don’t be surprised if he misses a few weeks.
NRLW heavyweights facing off
It’s half-time at Langlands Park in Brisbane as the Broncos host the Roosters.
The Roosters lead 24-10 at the break on the back of tries to Jasmin Strange, Taina Naividi, Otesa Pule and Olivia Kernick.
Tamika Upton is trying to keep the Broncos in it with a double of her own.
Skelton powers over for the Tigers
Off the obstruction penalty, the Tigers spin it left and the Titans number up, but Taylan May gets winger Jaylan de Groot a little interested, giving Jeral Skelton just a sliver of space to crash over on the left wing.
23′ Titans lose their captain’s challenge
Chris Randall is penalised for taking out Jarome Luai on a decoy run. Jayden Campbell convinces Tino Fa’asuamaleaui to challenge, but it’s an easy call in the bunker and the Titans have no challenge left for almost an hour of the match.
21′ Koroisau on the field and immediately falls asleep at dummy half
Tristan Hope was slow to dummy half a couple of times in his stint, but he’s been replaced by Api Koroisau, who’s stuffed up completely in his first chance.
Referee Belinda Sharpe ordered the ball be taken back for a reset play-the-ball and Koroisau just turned his back to talk to first receiver, meanwhile the ball was played and the Titans dive on it.
Only the Tigers.
Taylan May crosses in his return to the NRL
It’s Taylan May’s first NRL game in 436 days, and he and his terrible throat tattoo reminding him of his own last name are over for a try.
The centre, playing his first NRL game since being stood down and ultimately released by the Penrith Panthers in mid-2024 as a result of assault charges that have since been dropped, crosses on the left flank off a cut-out pass from brother Terrell May.
12′ Tino Fa’asuamaleaui getting his knee strapped
The Titans captain copped a knock to his left knee in an early tackle and has been a little laboured since then.
The trainers are strapping up the knee, which I believe is the knee with the torn ACL from last season.
11′ Tigers waste repeat sets
Penalties, six-agains back to back to back, right on the Gold Coast line, but the Tigers can’t make it count as Latu Fainu fumbles a dummy half pass.
Timmy catching strays
Arvo Jon. Hard to pick a winner in this game, they both cannot punch above their weight, much like the fight earlier. I admire Jayden Campbell’s effort each week so let’s go Titans.

KB,
That’s a cheap shot on Tim Tszyu. Verbal warning. Next time I’ll take a point off.
The Titans cross first as Tigers fans blow up
The Titans get a fresh set as a bomb lands in no man’s land and Tristan Hope can’t handle. I’d have liked another look at the contest to see if AJ Brimson knocked on but Belinda Sharpe, to her credit, makes the call in real time.
They spin it right and Jayden Campbell hits Jaylan De Groot with a glorious spiralling cut-out pass to cross on the right wing.
The Leichhardt Oval faithful don’t like it, and I thought it was forward live too, but the replays show a flat ball at worst.
2′ Jarome Luai looking clean
The Tigers five-eighth is throwing it back to the early years, playing without headgear and letting the locks flow in the Sunday breeze.
1′ Tigers kick us off
The Titans’ Jaimin Jolliffe takes the first charge into the defence.
100 games for Tigers at spiritual home
The Wests Tigers are notching up their century at Leichhardt Oval today.
The perfect location to turn things around after winning just one from their past eight games.
Titans flip off the Tigers in NRLW
The Titans have topped 100 NRLW tries in the first game at Leichhardt today, running out 24-12 winners over the Titans.
Jaime Chapman uncorked a cartwheel-into-backflip a la Sam Kerr or Reece Walsh after scoring the team’s opener.
Meanwhile, Caitlin Turnbull crossed for a hat-trick in a losing effort — something Chapman has experience with, doing so in the 2023 grand final.
Can the Titans boys back them up and maybe even climb off the bottom of the ladder?
LATE MAIL: Big changes for the Tigers

Sunia Turuva is filling in for the injured Jahream Bula at fullback once again, and the changes don’t stop there.
Discarded Panther Taylan May debuts for the Tigers at centre, pairing with brother Terrell May at prop.
The versatile Adam Doueihi slots into lock to make way, with Tristan Hope starting at dummy half and Api Koroisau coming off the bench.
Jack Bird starts in the back row in place of Alex Seyfarth.
For the Titans, Jaimin Jolliffe starts at prop in place of Reagan Campbell-Gillard.
