A delicious Butter Chicken Curry recipe cooked in the slow cooker. Mild enough for kids and so easy to make
There’s no better feeling than chucking all the ingredients for a meal into the slow cooker earlier in the day knowing you have dinner sorted for later. One thing at least ticked off your busy list!
So if you’re a fan of slow cookers like me then get this Butter Chicken on your meal plan this week.
It’s so easy to make with just a handful of simple ingredients and mild enough for kids too.

How To Make Butter Chicken in the Slow Cooker
The first step is to add onions, garlic, ginger and some spices along with a tin of chopped tomatoes and cubes of butter to the slow cooker.
Stir well so that everything is well combined.

Then add in chicken thighs and mix again.
Chicken thighs are my favourite for slow cooking but you can use chicken breast too if you prefer it.

Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6 hours.
And the final step is to stir in some greek yogurt to give it a bit of added creaminess.

It’s now ready to serve up with boiled rice and veggies and the side.
Leftovers can be kept in an airtight container in the fridge for up 2 days and can also be frozen for up to 2 months.

Serving Butter Chicken To Fussy Eaters
The first time I made this I had issues with my son eating it. He’s not a massive fan of curry and rice and I served it to him like the picture above, with everything mixed up. Big mistake!
The next time I used one of my Pick Plates, giving him just a small portion of the curry, rice and peas alongside some other foods that I know he likes. He didn’t eat it all but it was definitely an improvement and we had a much less stressful dinnertime experience!
