    MANILA, Philippines — National University star Bella Belen said that her back pain affected her performance after she was limited to her lowest scoring output in her UAAP career.

    Playing through a minor injury, Belen had a career-low two points but National University still swept Ateneo, 25-22, 25-16, 25-15, in the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament on Wednesday at Mall of Asia Arena. FULL STORY

    MANILA, Philippines–Alyssa Solomon deflated Ateneo’s ego in a masterful, 25-22, 25-16, 25-15, win by National University on Wednesday night at the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament.

    Solomon practically wreaked havoc on the floor by tormenting the Blue Eagles with 19 attacks out of 23 points as the Lady Bulldogs bolstered their bid for the top two spots in the semifinals. FULL STORY

    MANILA, Philippines–Jonna Perdido amply filled the huge void left by the high-scoring Ange Poyos in a huge 25-14, 25-13, 28-30, 25-15 win by University of Santo Tomas over University of the Philippines at the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament on Wednesday.

    Perdido matched her career high of 24 points built solidly around 22 attacks while hitters Reg Jurado and Xyza Gula likewise delivered as the Tigresses fortified their stronghold of the lead with a 10th victory in 11 games overall. FULL STORY

    MANILA, Philippines — Star rookie Angge Poyos missed University of Santo Tomas’ game against University of the Philippines in the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament due to dehydration.

    MANILA, Philippines — National University made quick work of Ateneo, 25-22, 25-21, 25-19, to secure a spot in the Final Four of the UAAP Season 86 men’s volleyball tournament on Wednesday at Mall of Asia Arena.

    Rookie middle blocker Rwenzmel Taguibolos led the way with 12 points, delivering an efficient  9-of-13 attacking clip and nailing three blocks to rise to a 9-2 record.

    NU’s win also helped idle Far Eastern University (9-1) clinch its spot in the Final Four. FULL STORY
