MANILA, PhilippinesâSan Miguel Beerâs triumphant PBA Commissionerâs Cup run at the expense of Magnolia completed somewhat a recent rarity for the leagueâs winningest franchise.

MANILA, PhilippinesâIt started with a spat, then some minutes of silence until finally, the PBA Commissionerâs Cup championship was won.
At the 4:56 mark in the second quarter of the PBA Finals Game 6, San Miguelâs CJ Perez was left wide open for a three-point shot in the right wing.
Instead of taking the clear shot, the Conferenceâs best player passed the ball in the paint, which resulted in a turnover that Magnolia took advantage of in the fast break.

Having some momentum and the veritable psychological edge, San Miguel sets out to deal the finishing blow on Magnolia when they clash in Game 6 of what has been a compelling PBA Commissionerâs Cup Finals on Wednesday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Beermen also have a lot of history going for them when they take the floor at 7:30 p.m. as they have, in the last 25 years, never lost a title series once they grab a 3-2 lead.

MANILA, PhilippinesâThis Wednesday may be Game 6 of the PBA Commissionerâs Cup Finals, but itâs also a day where love is celebrated to the fullest.
It is, of course, Valentineâs Day; a day to celebrate love in all facets of the word.
While that concept is hard to maintain in the modern era, youâd be surprised to know just how much basketball plays a role in preserving that idea for these swingmen of the PBA.

âWe canât just let guys go off for 30,â he told reporters with a long face on the heels of a 108-98 defeat at Smart Araneta Coliseum. âWe got to respect everybody on their team and I just feel like we didnât respect them today, and that was our problem.â

Simon Enciso made his first start in San Miguelâs PBA Commissionerâs Cup championship duel against Magnolia on Sunday. His father was also in the Smart Araneta Coliseumâs stands, watching him in his first-ever pro game. He was about to turn a year older, too.
