1,618 New Coronavirus Infections in Finland


On Monday, the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) has confirmed 1,618 new coronavirus infections in Finland. The total number of cases includes numbers since Friday. THL has stopped reporting new infections on weekends.

Most new infections were confirmed in the cities below.

280 in Helsinki, 121 Vantaa, 101 in Jyväskylä, 97 in Espoo, 87 in Turku, 84 in Tampere, 77 in Lahti, 56 in Oulu, 53 in Kuopio, 37 in Kerava, 29 in Kokkola, 26 in Rauma, 23 in Tuusula, 23 in Pori, 21 in Vaasa, 20 in Laukaa, 19 in Siilinjärvi, 18 in Seinäjoki, 15 in Hyvinkää 15 in Pietarsaari, 15 in Pedesöre, 13 in Hämeenlinna, 13 in Pirkkala, 11 in Hollola 11 in Kaarina, 10 in Lappeenranta, 10 in Salo, 10 in Kouvola, 9 in Porvoo, 9 in Mäntsälä, 9 in Saarijärvi, 8 in Järvenpää, 8 in Alavus, 7 in Raisio, 7 in Lohja, 7 in Sipoo, 7 in Lempäälä, 7 in Tornio, 7 in Kempele, 7 in Forssa, 7 in Luoto, 6 in Kotka, 6 in Rovaniemi, 6 in Joensuu, 6 in Vihti, 6 in Orimattila, 6 in Eurajoki, 5 in Kirkkonummi, 5 in Imatra, 5 in Raahe, 5 in Uurainen.

Currently, 180 (+9 since Friday) people are receiving hospital care for symptoms caused by the coronavirus. Of those, 29 (+1 since Friday) are in intensive care.

Four new deaths have also been reported since Friday. The total number of deaths is now 1,100 in Finland.
