1. Answer Questions Together

This is one really easy way for couples to make money together online, but the tradeoff is that you probably won’t earn much with it but it definitely adds up over time, and occasionally you’ll find a survey with a pretty large payout.

You can find a variety of sites online that will pay you for your thoughts.

I personally recommend Survey Junkie because I’ve tried it and find it safe and easy to use, and it usually has surveys available on any given day.

Doing a few surveys every day in your spare time or during lunch could earn you a not-insignificant chunk of cash over the long run.

If you can make even $5 a day, that’s $150 a month, which definitely isn’t a chump change.

Other high-paying survey sites include Swagbucks, Opinion Outpost, MyPoints and InboxDollars.

2. Rent out your real estate

Do you have an extra room, extra garage, a mother-in-law suite, or even a driveway or parking space?

One easy way to make money with minimal effort is renting out your space. You can advertise for a roommate or list your room on short-term rental sites.

Getting your bedroom listed on renting websites is very easy, and services like Airbnb make renting a breeze! Here’s a list of websites where you can easily list your space for rent:

  1. Oodle
  2. Zillow
  3. Hotpads
  4. Airbnb
  5. Realtor.com
  6. Rentals.com
  7. SpotHero (for parking space rentals)

Get your extra space listed, and start earning money as a couple now.

Another way to make money with real estate is by investing with online platforms like Fundrise.

It allows you to invest in real estate without a tremendous amount of capital. You can start with $500 only.

3. Start teaching

Are you great at math, while your partner is an English whiz or knows another language fluently? You may both be able to start teaching or tutoring online. This side hustle pays well and can often even be done from home.

Here is a list of websites where you can list yourself as a tutor:

  1. Preply
  2. Tutor.com
  3. Chegg
  4. Superprof
  5. Udemy

If you’ve got a grip on basic subjects, utilize it and use it to earn extra money.

4. Sell online courses

This is a bit different from the previous tip, in the sense that once you’ve completed making all your slides and content for the subject, you can sell it as a package for potential students.

Websites like Udemy or Teachable allow you to list your courses, and you get a percentage of the total subscription fee of your course. The more relevant the content is, the higher chance you’ll get students.

This is a great option for couples to make money when they’re both experts in the same subject. You can take turns making course videos, or one person makes the videos while the other writes the slides/documents or handles the editing.

5. Write a blog

Do you and your partner love to write and share a passion for a particular topic? If so, starting a blog can be a great way to express your passion and make money doing it.

By creating articles and entertaining or educating people, you can help others find the information they are looking for, while earning income at the same time. From video games to lifestyle tips and everything in between, there’s a demand for everything out there!

I started writing and blogging when my son was born. My husband was working evenings and I had extra time after the kids were in bed. This extra income helped my family and has now evolved into a full time job.

As a couple, blogging can be ideal because each individual can focus on particular tasks and help share the duties. The process of making a successful blog can take some time, but it pays off. You can start providing information on anything you like and be helpful and relevant.

As your user base grows, you can start advertising on your blog, which will help you build a passive income. Need some help getting started? Here is how to start a blog.

6. Learn a skill

These days, there’s a huge market for skill-based work. Both individuals and companies outsource things like social media management, data mining, content writing, etc.

Learning these skills doesn’t take a lot of your time, and you can have a handy source of income by working from home.

You can learn from YouTube or do free courses from websites like DataCamp and Coursera, which will give you general guidelines on how to work. After that, it’s just a matter of getting your first gig.

7. Sell your old things

We all know you’ve got a collection of stuff that you don’t want to sell. But maybe it’s finally time to get rid of that sofa or that study table you don’t use anymore.

Start by making a list of essential things, and stuff you just keep around for the sake of it. There may be a whole attic’s worth of old furniture, clothes, books, etc. that you are better off selling.

Make a listing on market platforms such as eBay, Facebook Marketplace, or Craigslist. After that, potential buyers will directly contact you and hopefully you’ll be able to sell away anything you don’t need.

I regularly make an extra $100 or more a month by selling and consigning old toys, selling used Disney VHS tapes, clothes my kids have outgrown, and other things we no longer need. This extra income can really add up!

8. Try cryptocurrency investing

Crypto has finally become a legitimate way of earning, as long as you know what you’re doing. It can take some time, since the learning curve is a bit steep on this one, but the payoff is good.

Thousands of people are able to make hundreds of dollars a day, simply by having knowledge about the cryptocurrency market.

Making an account is easy, with several brokerage websites requiring only a few dollars to get started. You can make an account on apps like Crypto.com, Binance and Coinbase among others.

However, crypto can be a risky way to try to make money, since coins can go down in value as easily as they can go up.

9. Invest in the stock market

If investing in crypto is a bit too confusing for you, stocks are an easier option, though you still might have to hit the books before you consider this a proper source of income.

Learning how current events affect companies, and predicting their value takes some learning, but it’s a great source of income as well as being fun to learn.

Apps like Wealthfront, Acorns, and Robinhood allow you to easily make an investment account, and offer other helpful functions as well. You can make a portfolio that can serve as a sort of retirement fund for you as well, helping you later in life.

10. Start a business

Have you always wished you could start a business? It’s never too late to start acting on that dream. Jeff Bezos was thirty years old when he started Amazon, and he’s the richest man on earth today.

So start planning. Your business could be anything, from providing services to making products. And as long as you give the business the proper time and effort, you can surely make an income out of it.

The beauty of starting a business is that it can grow so much you won’t need your main job anymore! Doing what you love will also make you less bored, and hopefully you’ll be able to retire with a fortune.

Need extra income to help pay the bills while your new business is building? Opportunities like DoorDash, Rover, Instacart and Fiverr are just one of many side hustles that can be fun and profitable.

And walking dogs or driving delivery orders becomes fun when you get to spend time with your partner while you’re at it!

11. Sell on ETSY

If either of you has design skills, then Etsy is the right choice for you. This e-commerce giant is the most popular place to sell printables and handmade products.

One of you can be in charge of product creation while the other takes care of shipping, customer service, and accounting.

Etsy is a great platform to sell as it has a large and loyal customer base of over 100 million buyers worldwide, charges relatively low fees compared to other e-commerce platforms, and is very user-friendly.

12. Create a YouTube channel

There are many ways to make money on YouTube from ads to affiliate marketing and sponsorships. While growing a YouTube channel is not an easy task these days, it is still one of the best options to make money online and to have fun while doing so.

To be successful on YouTube as a couple, you will need to create engaging content that resonates with your audience and keeps them coming back for more. Consistency and authenticity are key to building a loyal following, which will ultimately lead to more monetization opportunities.
